Is GMU worth it??

The reviews are so mixed online, some say its incredible and while others say it was the worst college and that they regret joining.
My current options are MBRU and Ajman uni (which i doubt ill be able to get in with my cbse board marks - 77%) and gmu which i can join easily but I’m worried its not good at all
One of my distant relatives mentioned that the communication is shit and approvals are very last minute, tho they have been contacting me since the beginning so idk
Anyone in gmu currently or used to be, pls give me ur advice, is it worth it? 🫠🥲

RIT Dubai vs Ajman University — Which is better for Bachelor in IT

Hi, I’m a transfer student currently deciding between RIT Dubai and Ajman University for Computer Science/IT, and these are my two main options.

For anyone who has studied at either university, I’d love to hear your honest experience. How would you compare the teaching, uni life, and career/internship opportunities between the two?

Also, do you think RIT is worth the higher cost, particularly if I’m interested in getting into research and building a strong career in CS/IT?

If you had to choose again, which would you pick and why?

uos vs dmu (for md)

i’m currently deciding between uos and dmu for medicine and i genuinely have no idea which one to choose 😭
i was initially rejected by uos because my predicted a-level grades were below their requirements, but i ended up getting substantially higher final results (a*ab) and they reconsidered my application, so i now have an offer for the md program.
i’ve also already been accepted into dmu, so i’m basically stuck between the two. i’m planning on doing residency abroad after med school, so i’m especially interested in which one would be better in terms of reputation, clinical exposure, matching/residency abroad, student life, etc.
if anyone studies at either, especially medicine, which one would you pick and why? and pls be honest about the pros/cons 🙏

Just trying to do something on my own

**This post is on behalf of my wife**

I don't usually post things like this, but I thought I'd give Reddit a try.

I'm a Chemistry online teacher living in Dubai. I have an MSc in Chemistry and have been teaching students online for the last 3 years.

I'm married, and my husband is supportive of me financially, so thankfully my family isn't in a difficult situation. But there is something personal I'd really like to do on my own.

My younger sister is planning her higher studies, and I want to contribute towards her education.

My husband has told me many times that I don't need to worry about the financial side of things, and I genuinely appreciate that. But as a sister, I would really like to be able to say:

"I helped you get there."

That's honestly the reason I'm trying to take on a few more Chemistry students rather than simply sitting at home.

I normally teach IGCSE, CBSE and ICSE Chemistry, mainly Grades 8–12, through online one-to-one classes.

One of my previous ICSE students achieved an A in Chemistry, which I'm still quite proud of.

I'm not looking to build some huge tutoring business. I'd just like to teach a few students properly, earn something independently, and put that money towards my sister's education.

If anyone here has a child who genuinely struggles with Chemistry, I'd be happy to have a conversation. No pressure at all.

And if tuition isn't something you need, that's completely fine too. Even if this post simply reaches the right person, I'll be grateful.

Thank you for reading. ❤️

I know this sub compares the best unis and debate over rankings, but what unis would you personally avoid at all costs?

Looking for Full Scholarships in UAE Universities

Hey everyone, I just graduated from high school and I’m trying to find a university in the UAE that offers a 100% scholarship. My family’s financial situation is really difficult, so paying tuition isn’t possible for us. If anyone knows of any universities or scholarships, or has any advice, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you

Looking for BBA university recommendations in Dubai

I'm thinking about moving to Dubai for my BBA, but I'm honestly struggling to figure out which university to choose.

I've looked at a lot of universities already, but many of the ones I've found are way outside my budget. I'm looking for a reputable university in Dubai offering a BBA/business-related degree, with tuition ideally around AED 45,000 or less per year.

I'd also really prefer a university that provides student accommodation, or at least has affordable accommodation options/partnerships. I'm completely fine with sharing a room with other students if that makes the cost reasonable.

I'm an international/CBSE student, so I'd also appreciate advice from anyone who has experience with admission as an international student.

I'm mainly looking for:

Good degree value/reputation

Tuition around AED 45k/year or less

Affordable student accommodation

Good student environment

Reasonable career/internship opportunities after graduation

I'm not looking for the absolute cheapest university if the degree isn't valuable. I'd rather pay a little more for a university that's actually worth it.

If you're currently studying in Dubai or graduated from a Dubai university, I'd really appreciate your honest experience — good or bad. Which universities should I seriously consider, and which ones should I stay away from?

Thanks 🙏
