Matt Damon, eat your heart out!

After 19 months of darkness, a blue light shined in my eternal tunnel (and for the Rambo enthusiasts: Yes, it did turn blue.).
I had given up, I begged for help, wisdom and mental support on Reddit several times, I even initiated multiple experiments to figure out if and where I had made a mistake, but thanks to your support, I kept on trying.
I put this game away so many times, filled a Living Dex in PLZA, cosplayed as DeltaAsh in Insurgence (including shiny DeltaNoctowl), Team Sky in Uranium and Cynthia in TooManyTypes, and conquered both BDSP playthroughs, including both shiny Box Legends and 5/6 of two Lake Trios, but I always came back to finally claim this stubborn behemoth.
And apparently, the prospect of being overtaken by the second roaming Mesprit was the hair that broke Regigigas' back, and today at 4pm, it showed mercy and released me from my hell.

Now, with a clean conscience, I can finally start those Dynamax Adventures everyone is talking about!

...oh, and I leave the choice of nickname in your hands, the three options manifested themselves a long while ago.

I'm in need of help or spiritual counseling from anyone who did a shiny hunt for Regigigas in Sword or Shield before.

So, me and Pangoro are hunting Regigigas in Sword.
We started back in January of 2025.

I can't even tell which reset I'm on, but it must be somewhere in the 20-30,000s by now.

Two whole sets of shiny Regis and Swords of Justice, caught in both Sword and Shield in the span of about 9 months, but this has become my personal Moby Dick.

I put this game away for so often now, switched to the new console, changed my character's outfit because I couldn't look at that golden onesie anymore, squeezed in a Shiny Living Dex in PLZA, started both BDSP playthroughs, including two successful Starter shiny hunts plus both Box Legendaries and Lake Trios, as well as a Fire Red Rocket playthrough with 3 random shinies, a hunt for Delta Hoothoot in Insurgence (because Delta Ash needs his shiny Noctowl), I got shiny Reshiram from Giovanni in PoGo today AND I'm subscribed to PM7.
So my shiny luck is in peak condition.
And every time I get a free minute during work breaks or train rides, I'm trying for Regigigas again.

But this voice of doubt started driving me mad, because somewhere along the way, I started wondering if I had made a mistake in the very beginning, screwed myself and ended up in a dead end, just too stubborn to give up a mission I can never accomplish.

And this is my question for y'all veterans out there:
Is it possible that I
- tried to battle Regigigas one time, just to try out Pangoro's moveset
- defeated it but for some reason didn't catch it
- thus generated its values and am soft resetting in front of the SAME IDENTICAL UNCHANGEABLE Regigigas for 1 1/2 years now?

I don't know if it's even possible to not catch it or start a new battle if it's already defeated, but I'm too scared of random autosaves to even try any experiments by now.

Maybe I'm just too damn unlucky with this specific Mon, but I could really go for some words of encouragement (or even discouragement at this point), because I'm feeling like Sisyphus rolling his damn rock up the hill for some time now...

I guess that leaves more time for Deino hunting in PoGo today...
