Cycling shorts or better saddle? Ozark trail G.1 gravel bike

I'm 5ft 6 - 280lbs so way on the heavier side to be on a bike but in an effort to improve my fitness and lose weight (and have fun) I wanted to squeeze rides in between gym days.

Went out for my first ride last night, this is my first time back in a bike for at least 10 years or so, all my previous experience being younger were on MTB's or bmx's so this is already a very different position to get used too.

For people wondering, I did go for the smaller frame, the medium frame felt a lot more uncomfortable to me.

Anyway, my arse is killing me I'm not sure if I need to look at a better saddle, cycling shorts with padding or a mixture or both.

I don't know anyone else who cycles, so don't have anyone to bother with noob questions, hence why I'm here.

Thanks in advance.

Frigidaire nugget ice maker REPAIR

bought this used, and was told the auger had an issue and would make a terrible noise. I take the appliance apart, soak all the tubes and unblock them and tested.

As long as i manually fill the rear reservoir that isn't being supplied by the pump, it makes the ice just fine.

When calling for ice, water drains from the fill tank at the top to the bottom sump.
The pump from the sump that should circulate that water to the rear top reservoir doesn't ever run so no water makes it up, and the appliance calls to add water.

There's a float switch in the rear reservoir, that when down(closed) it does not call for the refrigerator to run (unsure if this state should call the pump to run) when it's open then it calls for the refrigerator and auger to run.

I removed the pump assuming it must be faulty, i wired it up to another source of power and it works just fine.

So now i'm left with the following. There's a sump sensor somewhere that i don't see and can not find that's faulty or dirty etc...

The float switch from the upper rear reservoir when closed should call for the pump to get power but doesn't, this leads me to believe that there's an issue on the control board itself.

Has anybody ran into anything similar?

If i fail to fix it, my plan is going to buy 2 water level monitors with an esp32 or some other microcontroller, attach one to the sump and one to the upper rear reservoir and have it control the pump too, this will be janky at best, but i won't be defeated.

First time changing my own oil. Do I cry now or not?

This is my 2014 Ford fusion Hybrid SE. 2L 4 cyl engine.

I usually get the oil changed at whatever store has a coupon available but always spend on their top tier. I change at regular intervals. 3 months OR 6 thousand miles, whichever comes first.

I recently just spent a tonne on tools to start working on things myself and learning, so did my first oil change, all when smooth but I noticed these flakes in the picture.

For what it's worth I didn't notice any particular shimmer to the oil just noticed these flakes in the top of the pan when I went back out to the garage later.

Idk if this is normal, or if I should be preparing my wallet.

Engine sounds and runs great, no misfires no roughness.

EDIT: So i went out about bought a pair of Tin snips / Aviator snips and for the life of me can't open the filter.
The flakes in the collection pan seem to be debris of some kind, and i think i was a little stupid. The old oil filter was a bitch to get off and required me to use an oil filter wrench, it seems the white paint flaked off and into the debris pan.

Whilst pouring the old oil into the old oil container (To dispose of responsibly, i held a torch while pouring and saw no glimmer so i think I'm safe.

Also, i didn't expect this to get this kind of traction over 2m views and tonnes of comments. I'm going to shamelessly plug my desktop app to help further fund my home mechanical blunders and panics. Desktop Telly, it's an app to used to watch TV on Windows, MacOS, Linux.

Thank you all for the comments, happy to admit being dumb on this one.
