Hi everyone,

For context: I restarted playing a few months ago after a long break. Back then, we didn't have raids, I did have all dungeons completed and some fractals (I think tiers didn't exist yet and they were roughly has hard as today's T3).
Now I have completed all NM fractals (only one in CM), done strikes / raid encounters in NM or Quickplay, as well as a few raid attempts in guild, with mitigated success, mostly in healing roles. I'm now training on dps but I do struggle hitting benchmark numbers except maybe with Power Mecha.

I have mixed feelings about the new meta. I like that there is a place for min-maxxed dps and using traits that would otherwise be sacrificed for survivability in solo play. On the other hand, every time I get defensive gear with Toughness/Vitality, I don't know which character I could use it on. hen making builds I see cool defensive trait combinations but can't think of a good use case. Zerk characters do very well in solo PvE (unless you're trying to do solo champs, but I don't really see how that's rewarding). I've tried a few tanky builds in PvP but I find that beyond being able to hold a point a few seconds longer, it's not really useful if you can't down your enemies.

So is there a point in making tanky characters that focus on defensive stats and abilities, like the 3rd Firebrand book, blocking/shield skills, invulnerability stances, etc...and not just as an aftethought on healer builds?
