Want to play Pokémon Platinum multiplayer? Closed beta signups are open (Trailer drop)

Hey, Kai again. I’m the guy who’s spent way too many years making Pokémon Platinum multiplayer.

The response to my last post was way bigger than I expected, so thank you. I read pretty much everything people had to say.

There was also a lot I couldn’t fit into the first trailer, so I made another one.

New trailer!!
https://youtu.be/UqJLrp0AjTY

Every window you see in the trailer is a separate copy of the game running at the same time, so you’re actually seeing each player’s own screen. (RIP my pc)

This one shows a lot more of what Platinum Together actually has now: trading, trade evolutions, trainer selection, multiplayer Nuzlocke modes, and the Online city where you can run into other players.

Beta signups are open now
The closed beta starts October 19, and there are only a limited number of spots.

You can sign up through the Discord here:
https://platinumtogether.online/

The whole point of the beta is to find the stuff I missed before a wider release, so I’m fully expecting people to break things.

Also, since people asked about this a lot on the last post: around 40% of the code was made/discovered with LOCAL LLM AI, same as before.

Small note: I am looking for community helpers and moderators, feel free to join and ask.

I’ll be in the comments if anyone has questions.

I spent the last 4+ years turning Pokémon Platinum into a 4-player multiplayer game. It’s finally ready.

Hey everyone, I’m Kai. I’m the sole developer of Platinum Together.

I’ve been working on this by myself for over four years, and it feels really weird to finally be posting it somewhere people can actually see it.

I started the project because I wanted to play through Platinum with friends. Not an MMO or a totally different game, just Platinum except your friends are actually there with you.

Up to four people can play together, run around Sinnoh in the same world, progress through the game, battle, spectate each other, and generally just screw around together.

Getting all of this working has been a ridiculous amount of work, and there were plenty of times I thought I’d never actually finish it.

But I finally got it to the point where I’m ready to show people.

I just released the first beta trailer!!

Find it here: Platinum Together

You can find our discord link in the website below

If anyone has questions about how it works, multiplayer, development, or anything else, feel free to ask. I’ve spent way too much of my life on this game lol.

Edit: I was asked to disclose AI usage.
I will say about 40% of the code was AI made/Discovered, It would have been (unfortunately) impossible to release as a sole developer otherwise, AI helped me make the new menus for the game (I struggled for about 100 hours trying to figure out how to properly display new clickable menu because of how the game is coded) most of it was hundreds of hours of decoding before AI got as good as it did.)

Most of it is reverse engineered which is my specialty I am a back end developer and cybersecurity specialist, or at least that’s what I went to college for, I just recently graduated and I am out of a job (as many of my peers)

The entire development of the server infrastructure was hand-made.

Yes I used multiple local models to help me decode, engineer new UIs, and website development.

[OFFER] I’ll turn your gaming VODs into polished YouTube videos, Shorts, TikToks & Reels | From $10

You record the gameplay. I turn it into finished content.
I edit gaming VODs, streams, and raw recordings into both long-form YouTube videos and short-form vertical content for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram Reels.
You can send me your VOD and I can find the moments worth using myself. Longer recordings are welcome. My pricing is based primarily on the finished content and editing complexity rather than the length of the raw recording.

LONG-FORM YOUTUBE EDITING
I can turn your gaming footage into a structured, polished video by:

• Cutting dead time, repetition, loading screens, and unnecessary sections
• Finding funny, intense, interesting, or important moments
• Structuring the footage with a clear progression and payoff
• Adding subtitles, zooms, cuts, sound effects, music, graphics, memes, and visual emphasis where appropriate
• Improving pacing throughout the video
• Balancing gameplay, microphone, Discord, music, and other audio
• Delivering a finished video ready to upload
SHORT-FORM CONTENT
I can also turn your footage into 30–60 second vertical videos for:
• YouTube Shorts
• TikTok
• Instagram Reels

I edit each Short as its own piece of content with a strong opening, quick setup, readable captions, good pacing, and a satisfying payoff instead of simply cropping a moment from the VOD.
PRICING — USD
$10 — 1 Short
One polished vertical video from your footage.
$25 — 3 Shorts
I’ll go through your footage, find the strongest moments, and turn them into three finished vertical videos.
$30 — Long-form YouTube video
One edited long-form gaming video up to approximately 10 minutes finished length.
$45 — Creator Package
• 1 edited long-form YouTube video up to approximately 10 minutes
• 3 Shorts/TikToks/Reels
• I find the moments myself
• One revision round
Longer finished videos, heavier motion graphics, or larger batches can be quoted separately before the project begins.

You can also hire me as your ongoing social media video editor.

Examples of my editing/content:
https://youtube.com/@kaicrits?si=TWJVRcJpvtKdviso
To hire me, comment $bid on this post and then message me with:
• The game
• What you want produced
• Your VOD or footage
• A creator or video whose editing style you like, if you have one

Once we agree on the scope and price, I’ll reply $accept to your bid before beginning the work.
I’m particularly interested in working with gaming creators who record regularly and need consistent long-form and short-form editing.

Why don’t we have automatic model routing as an option?

Is there any reason a harness couldn’t automatically figure out which model is best for each part of a task?
For example, say you ask:

“Plan this feature, then implement it.”
The harness could have Sol Medium handle the planning, then hand the implementation off to Luna High to actually code it.

I know model switching mid-task has problems right now, especially because switching models can drop the cache/context benefits.

The workaround I’m using is basically automatic delegation: the current agent creates a separate task with clear handoff instructions for a cheaper/lower model. If that agent reaches something that needs a stronger model, it creates another task and hands it back up.

It works, but it feels like something the harness itself could eventually manage automatically: choose the right model for each stage of the task instead of using one model for everything.

Is there a technical reason this wouldn’t work?

Renewing your usage limits effectively devalues your subscription

Here’s a scenario

Jan 1 — You Pay $200
Jan 8 — reset
Jan 15 — reset
Jan 22 — reset
Jan 27 — pay $80, reset immediately
Jan 29 — normal reset doesn’t happen
Feb 3 — next reset
Feb 1 — your $200 subscription renews

In this case your included usage week just got sent to the shadow realm and on top of that fact resubscribing does not renew your usage just as a chefs kiss.

Paid Codex res*ts are here $80 on Pro 20x is absurd

OpenAI appears to be rolling out paid Codex resets to some users. Reports currently show $8 for some Plus accounts and $80 for a full weekly reset on the $200 Pro 20x plan, so pricing appears to vary depending on your subscription.
And remember: using one of these resets also moves your next weekly reset date to roughly seven days after you redeem it. You aren’t simply buying a completely separate bonus week.

If you think charging existing subscribers this much for additional usage is anti-consumer, don’t reward it. Don’t buy the reset. Cancel, downgrade, or move your work to providers offering better limits, temporary increases, or more reasonable overage pricing.

Reddit outrage means very little when people continue paying. Companies notice cancellations and declining revenue.

Vote with your wallet. Don’t reward shitty pricing.
