What criteria do you use to verify that an electronic waste vendor actually recycles material responsibly?

Our company is trying to achieve a specific green business certification this year, which means we have to thoroughly document our waste streams and prove that our obsolete corporate hardware isn't just being dumped into local landfills or shipped overseas to developing regions. I am currently vetting a few commercial corporate disposal firms, and I want to find an option that focuses specifically on sustainable electronics liquidation and proper asset sorting. They mention compliant environmental processing on their sites, but our compliance auditor wants to see specific industry credentials to back up the claim. When you are researching environmental vendors for electronic waste, what specific certifications do you prioritize? Do you look exclusively for standards like R2 or e-Stewards to ensure proper downstream tracking, or do you find that standard regional environmental permits are sufficient for corporate sustainability audits?

What are the key features to look for in a low-emission drilling machine?

Had a random situation at site last week when the old drilling machine started throwing too much smoke and the supervisor basically told me to figure out something low emission before we get flagged again. I was just standing there thinking what actually matters in these machines, like is it fuel efficiency, engine type, dust control, or some certification stuff nobody explains properly on site. Later at night I ended up browsing different suppliers just to understand the specs and ended up on Alibaba checking listings from different manufacturers. Not gonna lie, some pages were surprisingly detailed with emissions ratings and real job site photos, which made it easier to compare instead of guessing from random catalog talk. We had a similar mess before when a rented machine broke down mid work and everyone just stood around waiting, so I dont wanna repeat that. Now I am stuck trying to understand what features actually define a good low emission drilling machine and what is just marketing noise. So what really matters most in these machines and how do you even decide which one is worth it when everything looks confusing

anyone else have anxiety that is specifically and only about the dentist? how do you manage it long term?

so i have general anxiety but the dental specific version is on a completely different level. i can get through most stressful things but the moment i'm in a dental chair my brain goes into full panic mode. racing heart, sweating, sometimes tears and i am 34 years old lol. i have managed to keep going because i found someone who genuinely adjusts to me, stops when i need a break, explains each step first. i currently see Dr Zadeh in Tarzana and she never makes me feel like i'm being dramatic. but even with a good dentist the anticipatory anxiety in the days before is still rough. what do you all do to manage the anxiety before and during dental visits? breathing, distraction, medication? want to know what has actually worked for real people

How do you guys manage testing for OEM-specific battery optimizations on Android?

We’re having a nightmare with a fitness app where the background tracking gets killed on Xiaomi and Samsung devices but works perfectly on Pixels. We’ve implemented the standard "Don't Kill My App" workarounds, but it still feels like a losing battle. At 8ration, we’ve tried using various heartbeat patterns, but even those get throttled after a few hours. Is there a library or a specific service type that you’ve found to be more resilient against these aggressive power managers, or is the only real solution to beg the user to manually whitelist the app in their settings?

I love fruit. I eat a ton of it. But sometimes my sweet craving is specifically for something that tastes like dessert or candy, not a strawberry. And that's the craving that gets me in trouble because the only options I can think of are ice cream (250+ cals) or actual candy (300+ cals). What do you eat when you specifically want something sweet and dessert-like that comes in under 100 cals? Real answers please, not just ""have an apple"" because I've been having apples and they don't scratch this particular itch.
