I'm looking to move to Manchester for lifestyle reasons. I'm currently 4 YOE as a Software Engineer in AI Native Platforms (think RAG/Langgraph chatbots, internal AI tooling, ML infra etc.) on 60k p/a

I like my workplace. But the only issue is I'm 50% in the office (and I refuse to get a car in this economy) so I'm stuck in a small UK town where company is headquartered. I'm 28. Its lonely as fk, its one of those families with kids in their late 30s towns.

So I'm exploring my options. Ideally the jump would involve a salary upgrade (I'm looking at around 75k). Recommendations? I'm not afraid of challenge and I'm quite talented. Should I hit startups or established company for this? Cheers!

Hi, I'm wondering what people do as Soviet Union to stop Germany in a game where France fell with minimum losses? German meta these days revolves around 36W inf and rushing guns plus regimental guns (mountaineers if exploits involved) and support companies for modifiers. This results in divs that regularly pump 500-600 soft atk under green air in SU. I havent seen a game where soviet holds this succesfully for more than a year. Any tips or is Soviet just cooked in current meta? My best attempts yield 7 milion troops but the divisions are significantly weaker due to debuffs, pushing only 200-250 soft and its not enough to stop the axis from reinforce meming entire front

Life is hard so I figured it would be nice to have someone to mutually encourage each other and inject a little bit of positivity.

Im an AI engineer, quite driven about career. Because I grew up in a financially insecure family my goal is to give myself and my family a better future. So I spend most of my time grinding or recovering from grind.

I'm a fairly cynical person though with a strong set of values. Im a Catholic Christian. I am looking for something purely online so i wont name my looks and I dont care about yours. You can be either gender since this will be strictly celibate but only cis people please.

I have couple of hobbies but I will only name the ones I could realistically share:

- I like indie games. I appreciate a good story. Im a big undertale fan!

- Scifi books and movies. I went to rewatch The Thing with friends recently and it was great

- Science, technology, geopolitics, stocks - you know im a lonely chud so i sit at home most of the day consuming scientific papers and videos while playing hoi4 or lifting weights at home

- I like dark humor and memes, I will send you whatever most obscure meme I found the dank3r the better

- I would hang out with furries more if they werent so overly sexual but i think they are chill people generally

- I like nature, I find myself cycling to countryside often as I feel happiest when there are no people around. I remember reading Robinson Crusoe at 15 and thinking "damn he got a good life on that island by himself"

My name is Adam and I finally decided to give this thread a go ☺️

I live in a fairly boring town in UK not too far from Cambridge. I'm a computer science graduate and work in fin tech as an AI engineer. I used to wanna be a game developer until economic realities hit me 😅 Im a fairly creative brainiac type of guy. I take pride and passion in my work.

In terms of hobbies I actually enjoy trying out new things so I dont think ive stuck around for anything for more than half a year. But fairly consistently I like scifi movies/videogames. I like learning and spend a lot of time on youtube and internet browsing science stuff.

In terms of physical activity I like cycling, I walk a lot and don't have a car on purpose to keep me moving since i spend a lot of time sitting at work/hobbies. Id love to get into hiking or bouldering with someone.

In terms of values im catholic and centrist politically. I believe in a balanced approach to everything rather than extremes.

As far as relationships go - I had one which lasted 6 years. I would definitely call myself a long term type. I dont have social media (ig facebook and whatnot) as it has never done anything good for me. I have few friends but the ones i do would jump in fire for me and i would for them.

Physically I'm a white guy, im 6ft tall, I would call myself slightly below average in terms of attractiveness. I wear thick glasses and have thinning hair so yeah classic nerdy dude look. I work out daily but ive never been particularly strong since childhood so id basically call myself skinny fat though you would think im fit in clothes.

Ive tried messaging women here dozens of times and never got any responses back so i dont have high hopes - but im also open to finding quality friendships so feel free to reach out :)
