I get it

This post is mostly a rant so don't worry yourself too much about it. But I just wanted to say I understand now.

About a week ago, I decided to try and fix my life after my partner confessed that she'd put us in major debt and had been planning on ending her life. In what felt like no time at all, I was in the deep end of a financial crisis, I'm finding out that our rent was being spent on the side AND I had to be the supporting partner to watch over this woman to make sure she didn't take a big step off of a short ledge. In an attempt to do something, I asked chatgpt for business ideas and a suggestion was to advertise my services on Reddit, where I stumbled across this Subreddit. I thought "what the heck" and put up a post and crossed my fingers. I didn't get any help....but I wanted to say I GET it.

In the time since I put my post up, I went through other SubReddits and the posts in this one and I just had to say, I understand why y'all are frustrated. In a short period of time, I've come across so many posters that are clearly taking advantage of people (looking at you @Master_Leader_8027) and I see how it's put people off of helping others! These SubReddits are filled with people genuinely looking to help and people who desperately could use help.....but it's buried under so much noise that working to clear it all up is disheartening.

I don't know what can be done to fix it but I wanted to say to the givers, Thank You for everything you did to build this subreddit. It may not seem like it anymore, but your work did help people when, more often than not, their own circles didn't step up.

To those still waiting for assistance, it might not seem like it but there is still hope! You are stronger than what's hurting you (it sounds cliché, I know. But it's better to believe that than tell yourself you're a lost cause because you aren't)

And to those that cheated and stole from the people in here, GET BENT!

Potheads Unite!

Quick question! With the number of weed smokers in Botswana, wouldn't it just be simpler to legalize and tax usage?

And on a street level, wouldn't it be safer to buy edibles instead of smoking??

Fur Dad In Need Of Assistance

Helloooo there fellow Redditors. I hope I find you guys in good spirits. I need your help. I am an entertainer in Botswana and I've found myself in a bit of a jam. Things have been a little tight in my household following my partner's mental breakdown and I have been unable to be as mobile as I would like because I have to watch over her during her recovery. I joined Reddit to try and find some remote work that I can do from home (I offer copywriting, data capture, Excel worksheets, copy editing and transcribing services) and while looking for gigs I came across this Sub Reddit and decided to try my luck coz you never know.

I'm hoping to find assistance in getting food and litter for my cats as they haven't been eating good in a while. I had a budget for them but given what's happened and the financial fallout that followed, I've been struggling to keep them fed AND get meds for my partner AND keep up with the house bills. I need a leg up while I figure things out and for now the most important priority is trying to secure funding for the catfood as that is way less than what I need for bills and such.

Anything you can offer can go a long way and if you have leads that need my services but aren't region-locked please point me in that direction too. In the last 14 hours since I've been back on Reddit I've noticed a bunch of scam pieces and etcetera so I understand how skeptical people might be with such posts and y'all have every right to but right now all I can do is ask and hope for the best. That's all we can do,right?

If you can offer assistance, please inbox or comment and I can send through my PayPal details.

P.S. I'm a bit rusty on my Reddit etiquette, is it okay if I copy and paste this post to other SubReddits too or would that be problematic?
