I wanted to share my journey and thank everyone in this community who answered questions, offered advice, and gave me hope when things looked cold.

Applied in 2023
Initial denial
Reconsideration denial
ALJ hearing denial
Appeals Council review
Appeals Council remand to a different ALJ
Fully Favorable Decision from the new ALJ
There were many times I felt like giving up. The process was frustrating, slow, and emotionally exhausting. Every denial felt like a punch to the gut.
If I learned anything from this experience, it's this:
Be persistent. Be consistent. Don't quit treatment.
For anyone still fighting:
Keep going to your appointments.
Follow your treatment plans.
Stay engaged in both mental health and physical health treatment.
Keep records of everything.
Be honest with your providers about your limitations and symptoms.
Don't give up after a denial.
Sometimes it takes multiple levels of review before someone finally looks at the entire picture.
To everyone still waiting on a decision: I know how stressful it is. I know how hard the waiting can be.
Keep pushing forward.
Thank you again to everyone who helped me along the way. Today, after years of fighting, I can finally say that I received a Fully Favorable SSDI decision.
