What made Bellwether so maniac in the sequel?

RAAAAAHH

Like, in the first movie after she was revealed as a villain, she was cold, mocking and sadistic, but not outright unhinged like we saw in her courtroom meltdown and the creepy stare we got at the very end.

Did the other inmates touching her wool up until her trial push her over the brink? lol

After all this waiting, I finally saw Hoppers!

I honestly loved it! It really feels like we got our old Pixar back in this movie, especially with the fact that we have an intimidating, competent villain who’s actually evil with no redemption arc.

As I listened to Dr. Sam’s voice, I was like, “Peggy Hill, is that you?!” 😂💀I also loved the bit at the end where the dog collars from Up were referenced. It really confirms the popular theory that all of Pixar’s movies are connected to each other.

Did anyone else feel the same way? Comment away whether or not you agree!

Does anyone know why College View Road is closing again on June 10th?

After nearly two years of construction the road is finally open with a brand new roundabout, and my family and I were driving up to the roundabout when we saw a sign saying that the road would be closed starting June 10th.

Does anybody happen to know what more construction they’re going to do there? What more could they possibly have to do anyway?! All this is really getting fking annoying, imo~

Looking for recommendations/options in general: movers for simply moving furniture from room to room?

So, we have a two-piece china hutch (sideboard + lighted cabinet on top) sitting in our garage that we’d like to move into our house (specifically a bedroom downstairs) but it’s WAYYY too heavy for us to move on our own, as in 200-300 lbs per piece.

Does anybody know of any sort of business that does this sort of thing, or whether or not present moving services around here like Two Men and A Truck do this sort of thing at all?

Please don’t hesitate to comment, but please be civil about your opinions!

I’ve been seeing a lot of praise for Pawbert as a twist villain in Zootopia 2, and honestly…I don’t get it.

What bothers me most is how inconsistent his characterization feels. When Pawbert betrays Judy and Gary, it doesn’t come across like a calculated reveal; it feels hesitant, almost reluctant, like he’s being pushed into it against his will. There’s a sense of remorse there that suggests internal conflict, which could have been interesting, but the movie never properly develops it. Instead, we jump from that hesitation straight into full-blown maniacal behavior near the end, especially in the maze scene and right before he gets knocked out by Officer Hogbottom. That shift felt abrupt and forced, like the writers flipped a switch, or simply told him “be an evil psycho“ rather than letting his descent unfold naturally.

And that ties into my biggest issue: there’s basically no meaningful foreshadowing. Pawbert spends most of the movie being helpful and supportive toward Judy and Gary, and none of that behavior meaningfully hints at what he becomes later. It just contradicts itself. What frustrates me is that audiences usually criticize twist villains for exactly this problem (lack of setup and relying on a last-minute personality reversal), yet Pawbert gets a pass and is even praised for it. I swear I literally wanted to scream when thinking about it all.

His motivation also feels shaky. The whole angle about wanting his family’s approval doesn’t land for me at all. We’re told he endured decades of abuse and degradation from them, and he even acknowledges that they’re “evil” and that he needs to get away from them. Given that, why suddenly hinge his actions on earning their approval? It feels contradictory to everything we’re shown about his awareness of how toxic they are.

Compare that to Dawn Bellwether from the first movie. She wasn’t perfect, but there was setup: her remark about being treated like a more like a glorified secretary than an assistant mayor, small details like the connection to Doug (both were sheep, plus the sticky note on her desk), and her conveniently appearing at key moments. When her villainy is revealed, it feels like a natural escalation, especially when Judy and Nick refuse to cooperate and she drops the friendly, coaxing façade, becoming cold and mocking. That transition feels earned in a way Pawbert’s doesn’t.

So yeah, I’m not saying Pawbert couldn’t have worked, but as it stands, his twist feels underdeveloped, tonally inconsistent, and weirdly overpraised compared to other twist villains who get criticized for doing the same (or less). Curious if anyone else feels the same way or if there’s something I’m missing because it has been a while since I last saw the movie.
