I saw a flash of light while driving home in Los Osos, it lit up the horizon towards the west, any ideas? I checked, there weren't any launches at Vandenberg tonight, and I don't think it was lightning. Couldn't hear any noise that came along with it from inside of my car
Saw this tiny guy hanging out after putting our tent away while camping in northwest Nevada, USA (near Lovelock)
He was about an inch long when his tail was curled, maybe 1.25-1.5 inches including extended tail
My engine is making a new sound, I started it for a few seconds earlier (sounded normal then), then remembered that my wiper fluid was low, so I turned it back off and refilled it (with water, not sure if that matters).
It made the noise for about 20 seconds and then stopped on it's own
(It was not the cap to the wiper fluid reservoir, I checked, it was closed)
My dashcam doesn't have a great microphone, and it stopped before I could take my phone out for a video after getting out of my car, so it's quiet. I have to turn my volume up all the way to hear it
I'm planning on going on a road trip from California to Montana in 2 weeks, is this noise indicative of a problem that would be a risk for that? Total round trip is around 2,400 miles
My aunt recently told me that she saw people in her community (Seattle) using embroidery hoops to hold trash bags open while picking up trash, and I've found it a lot easier than using a bucket
I had a cheap plastic hoop laying around from a kit I got at a yard sale, so now I use that on my trash pickups with 30 gallon trash bags - 6x the capacity of a 5 gallon bucket.
I also have a hard time keeping the trash from blowing out of my bucket, but the hoop + bag combo pretty much gets rid of the issue

What do y'all do for PPE? I've been wearing gloves, but I think I want to get a high visibility vest for when I'm picking up next to busy roads, do you think that's overkill? Or better safe than sorry?
I've been walking around picking up garbage, and am looking for locations that anybody's noticed gather a lot of trash
That's about it :) if anybody wants to help, Miners has trash grabbers for around $30. I bring it with me when I go to the beach and stuff, highly recommend
It first happened around 5 months ago, I replaced the fuel pump assuming that was the cause and it's still happening very infrequently
It's happened once while in drive, but I was not actively accelerating - I was going super slow through a parking lot. The rest of the times have been while idling in park
I'll just be sitting in my car with the engine on, which I do pretty frequently (I smoke in my car, family doesn't like the smell) and the engine turns off, and the car switches to accessory mode.
My alternator has been tested and is fine, same with the battery, and as mentioned above, the fuel pump is fairly new
I know there's a slow oil leak, could that be related at all?

Edit to add engine size; 2.5L, I'm not 100% on the other specifications, but I can find out if needed
