Emirates cabin baggage: 1–2 cm over + laptop bag allowance?

Can someone clarify this for Emirates? My cabin trolley is 56 × 33 × 23 cm, while Emirates’ accepted cabin baggage dimensions are 55 × 38 × 22 cm. So mine is only 1 cm over in length and 1 cm in depth. Has anyone travelled with a trolley that’s 1–2 cm over? Was it accepted without any issue?

Also, does a personal laptop bag with a laptop, documents and a few essentials count toward the 7 kg cabin baggage allowance, or is the laptop bag allowed separately?

Edit: I’m flying from India to Dubai, and then from Dubai to Geneva, Switzerland

Should I apply for my Switzerland student visa by myself or go through an agency? How

my_qualifications: Bachelors

I have secured admission for my Master’s in Switzerland. I handled my university application process by myself, but now I’m confused about whether I should apply for the Swiss student visa on my own or go through an agency.

The agencies are charging a lot, more than visa fee, so I’m trying to understand if it’s actually worth it or if the process is manageable on my own. Has anyone here applied by themselves? Would really appreciate any guidance.

Anyone applying to Switzerland from India for Fall 2026 intake?

Is anyone going to Switzerland from India for the Fall intake?

I’ve been trying to book visa slots on VFS Global in my city for the past 3 days, but it keeps showing “not available.” Can anyone guide me on this? Do I need to visit the Delhi Embassy directly to submit documents, or is everything handled through VFS?

Accepted into University of Geneva, but unsure about the scope of this degree in Europe

Hey everyone,

I’m a non-EU student from India and I recently got admitted to the University of Geneva for a Master’s in Responsible Management. The programme is mainly focused on sustainable finance, sustainability, and operations/management.

Initially, the course title itself felt a little unusual to me, and after going through the curriculum more deeply, it seems quite generalised rather than highly specialised. That’s making me a bit hesitant about whether I’m making the right choice.

I do have a genuine interest in sustainable finance and ESG-related fields, but I only have around 9 months of work experience and it’s not directly related to sustainability or finance.

So I wanted honest opinions from people already working/studying in Europe:
- Is sustainable finance actually growing enough in Europe for non-EU graduates?
- Does a broader degree like this hurt job prospects compared to a specialised finance degree?
- How difficult is it for non-EU students to break into ESG/sustainable finance roles in Switzerland or Europe overall?
- Would experience matter more than the degree name in this field?

I’d really appreciate realistic opinions, especially from people already in sustainability, ESG, or finance roles in Europe.
