China roaming question?
I’m about to be heading to China for a week in September, and I’m planning on using the Rogers Roam Like Home thing while I’m over there
I did hear that people who used it - it connects them to the Canadian internet. Is that true because my plan is to do that and then use a VPN (nordVPN is banned in china but assuming I use global internet on roaming, I could be allowed it). Would that also affect the China apps too if I’m on global internet and would the Chinese government still track me? (I do not intend to get political or see sensitive material that goes against China while I’m there, I do need to keep in touch with people while I’m there like snap, iMessage, Meta stuff, YouTube)
What’s everyone’s thoughts?
MacBook in Canada - buy new or refurbished?
I’ve been looking at those lately, and I am eyeing for 16GB RAM with 1 TB SSD, and while I’m eyeing on the latest Air, I want a big screen if I can (16 inch, right now my laptop THATS Windows is 13 inch lol), but I’ve been seeing a lot of refurb MacBook Pro M1 Pro from 2021 with those specs at good prices around $1K CAD refurb, my only issue is it can be dirty, it may not officially be from Apple and on top of that, refurbished sellers like SaveonMacs may get good reviews but often bad. So I wanna know what’s everyone’s opinion.
