So, did C.C. change her mind about wanting to die in the end of original series?

Why didn't Lelouch tell Suzaku that commanding Euphemia to kill all japanese was an accident?

Moreover, Lelouch even lied that he did it on purpose. What's the benefit from it? If he told Suzaku that it happend accidentally, maybe it'd be a relief for Suzaku and he had a little more compassion for Lelouch. If not, I don't think it'd be worse.
