My take on the Gastonia ankylosaurian of the early Cretaceous. Model from Museum Miniatures.
This model was 3d printed and painted by me. Emphasis was on realism while maintaining visual interest.
Was fun to work on hope y'all like it to!

Allosaurus is my favorite carnosaur as it is for many others and just like the Styracosaurus model I recently painted, I really wanted to lean into the idea of sexual display features to explore more interesting colors. I went with vibrant, saturated tones on the head crests, mouth, and inside of the arms to suggest a mature male in his prime, while keeping the rest of the body in more earthy gradients to maintain a sense of realism.
Hopefully I did this icon proud!

This is Styracosaurus, a medium sized ceratopsian dinosaur that lived in the late Cretaceous around 80 million years ago.
I love painting what these ancient creatures could have looked like, hopefully I did this one justice!

Wanted to give him a realistic look while at the same time making it interesting, which I can mostly get away with by claiming male sexual display purposes for some of the brighter colors. Other than that, I tried to stay true to the more muted colors these large herbivores most likely had as slow grazers.
Let me know what you think! I'll be working on an Allosaurus next, keeping some of the same principles in mind

His favorite color is green so that was the theme I stuck to. Tried my best to incorporate some OSL elements.
