I don’t even know where to start. Fuck my fucking chungus life.

I (F22) just finished moving into this house and I don’t think I can handle it. This is the first I’ve ever been in charge of a house at all. I’m renting it from my grandmother and she just had knee surgery and then hand surgery so I don’t really feel comfortable having her fix things and she doesn’t like to hire people so shes going to be fixing herself and I just feel like a bad granddaughter but that’s besides the point. But I plan on living here for a very long time so not fixing it or waiting for her to fix everything is not really an option.

But theres just so much wrong with the house. I don’t know where to start. I’m college so I don’t have like crazy amounts of money to shovel into this house. There’s random holes in the walls and the baseboards are spackle and weird tape and there’s roaches. I made a post yesterday in r/plumbing fixing the toilet. I’m trying my best. Any advice on where to start or (cheap)company’s that can help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: thank u guys so much for the help!! I guess I was freaking out about nothing. I invited a friend over to help me move in and she spent the whole time complaining that the house is “unlivable” and I should sue my grandmother so that kinda scared me since when it comes to house stuff I don’t know my hand from my foot. I’m in Tampa Florida if anyone has any recommendations!!

I tried to install a bidet :(

I tried to install the bidet I’ve done it before so I didn’t think it’d be that hard but the screw is coming out of the toilet for the water is like spinning and it’s making this like cracking noise when I try to unscrew it from the screw and the nozzle for the bidet is stuck on the other end. I don’t know how to get it off. I just moved into this place and I can’t afford a plumber and I don’t know what to do. I tried using two wrenches to like grab the other screw to keep it from spinning like unscrew the bottom wrench but because of the weird angle of the toilet is at I don’t think that’s possible or it just isn’t working or I’m just not strong enough.

UPDATE: I broke it, but then I fixed it again! I messed with it until the tank intake nozzle fell off. And then I had to get a new toilet universal fill valve but then the toilet wouldn’t stop filling but it was because I turned the thingy wrong but I fixed that and I bought a new bidet and I put that in and everything works perfectly and I did what you guys said, and I replaced the braided tube. Yay for me and my clean butt. I did it! Everyone clap ☺️
