Lowlight from yesterday’s showing
Saw a 4K screening yesterday in L.A. at the superior Geffen Theatre at the Academy Museum. We were sitting in the handicapped row, as we brought along my 87 yo cousin, who actually had never seen ***Jaws*** in its entirety, and we’d borrowed a wheelchair to get him up to the theatre and seated in the center of the wheelchair row.
Right before Chief Brody’s famous line—“You’re gonna need a bigger boat”—in the shot looking down to the water while he’s chumming, and it’s the shark’s first total viewing in the film—the first time it really surfaces—I kid you not, a guy wheeled his presumably elderly mom right across the entire row, blocking our first clear view of Bruce.
I actually said out loud, “Are you kidding?!?!”
*“When you gotta go, you gotta go.”*
