40/M Recent experiences applying for a Spanish visa as Digital Nomad

Hi everyone! I’m getting my documents together for a Digital Nomad visa application at the Spanish consulate, and I’m curious about other people’s recent experiences.

I’ve already checked the official requirements, but sometimes what happens at the appointment is a little different from what’s written online and sometimes crazy. Did they ask you for anything unexpected? Were they strict about documents, originals, copies, apostilles, or translations?

I’d also appreciate hearing about any small detail you wish you’d known beforehand. Just trying to avoid surprises and arrive well prepared.

Thanks!

40 | M | GMT -4 "When was the last time you really smiled"

"When was the last time you really smiled"
That phase got stitched to my brain,

I hope you are not a ghost like the ones of reddit.. One of those from the same generation of the T800, with perfect posts, long descriptive, but lost ...

This is the first thought I have had after reading a post today,

After not having smiled
for an entire day,
watching fake smiles in meetings,
seeing posts generated by AI,
missing some kind of human interaction,
almost as if I'm missing in action.

When was the last time
you gave someone the right words
to help them vent?
When did you last remind someone
that they weren't alone,
making your words feel like a soft pat on their shoulder,
not just with words,
but with actions
that quietly said,
"I'm here."

You, apostle of grief
have you lost your sun?
Where is the north
that once guided you?
Why do you feel so lost
when nothing, it seems,
has even passed? Or perhaps
something did,
so quietly
that no one noticed,
not even you.

Or perhaps
something did,
so quietly
that no one noticed,
not even you. So don't ghost anyone.
Be eager to respond.
Offer words of happiness,
kindness, service, and freedom.
Commit yourself only to happiness,
and if you truly are human,
add a lemmon at the beginning of your message,
not as proof,
but as a small reminder
that there is still someone
on the other side.

Now, about me...
I'm just a tired guy who still believes that if you try to do the right thing, life eventually finds a way to return the favor. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but eventually.

Nationality? , lets see if you can guess

"There is a country in the world
that follows the sun,
a native of the night,
born on an archipelago
of sugar and alcohol.

Simply
light,
like a bat's wing
resting on the breeze.

Simply
clear,
like the trace of a kiss on old spinsters
or the day on the rooftops.

Simply
fruity. Riverine. And material. And yet
simply torrid and kicked
like a teenager on the hips."

"They say, 40 is the 50% of your life, now is time to live",
I've been married.
I've been divorced.
I've known what it feels like to love someone deeply, to lose them, to help them through difficult times, and to rebuild myself afterward.

I didnt planned this post to be jsut long, was just a reaction to a day in wish you can be mentally exausted, fighting with all fronts at the same time, feeling you've have accomplished nothing, even if you have achieved a good job, ongoing a 2nd masters and been healthy enough to see the sunrise, with a cup of coffee in silence.

"Give me a manual, and I can build you that rocket", that has been my moto for years, but sometimes a good chat and a "Good morning!! whats for breakfast, where is the coffee", is more powerfull than a Rocketdyne F-1, because it can be the world for some.

Life has taught me that happiness isn't found in grand gestures. It's found in the small things: a conversation that lasts a little longer than expected, someone checking in because they remembered you, sharing a coffee, taking a walk, making another person smile for no reason at all.

Check in if you want to, you wont regret it, might find a friend for life.

P.S. If you're the kind of person who enjoys overthinking things, ask your favorite AI: "What does this post reveal about the person who wrote it?" I'd be interested in hearing what it says.

Estoy considerando mudarme a España.

Me gustaría saber:

  • Trabajo en IT.

40/M Considering moving to Georgia, Just Looking for the reality brochure

Hi everyone,

I'm an IT consultant considering relocating to Georgia within the next year. I've read a lot of articles and watched countless videos, but I'd really like to hear from people who actually live there.

I'm not looking for vacation advice, I want to understand what day-to-day life is really like.

Some things I'd love to know:

  • What's your biggest frustration living in Georgia?
  • What do newcomers usually underestimate?
  • How difficult is it to integrate into the local community?
  • Is English enough outside of tourist areas?
  • How reliable are internet and utilities?
  • How expensive is life compared to what people say online compared to spain, portugal or the Caribbean?
  • What's healthcare really like?
  • How safe do you feel?
  • If you had the opportunity to move there again, would you?

A little about me:

  • 40 years old
  • IT consultant
  • Introverted
  • I enjoy hiking, cooking, nature, coffee shops, photography, and metal music.
  • I'm looking for a peaceful place to settle long-term rather than somewhere with an exciting nightlife.

I'm interested in hearing both the positives and the negatives. Every country has both, and I'd rather know them before making such a big decision.

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience.
