I’m here from the 17th - 21st and it’s been a letdown so far. I haven’t experienced much ‘Georgian Hospitality’ yet, it’s felt more like the locals would prefer it if I wasn’t here.
This has been a big culture shock coming from Turkey, where all the locals are very welcoming and genuinely interested in chatting, even if it’s just small talk. There’s also a lot less English than I was expecting.

Anyway, any advice on how to make the most of the next couple of days here? I’m travelling solo and am looking to connect with people.

Hi all. About to travel to Tbilisi for a few weeks. I keep getting Tbilisi videos on my Instagram algorithm. Some of them are about the complaints of construction going on. Realistically, how much of the city is under construction?

I am aware Tbilisi is huge but I’ve now seen too many videos of the like.

Mostly I'm busy with work or in university (I'm studying for my master’s degree) I don't need to have 24/7 conversation, but I really appreciate when a person is paying attention and is willing to really get to know me. I don't need no one minute conversation. Also, I need to say that I'm not in a relationship right now, and I'm not trying to look for it, but friendship is a good fundament for a relationship so let's see what gonna happen.

Recently, several tourists have died under very suspicious circumstances “or committed suicide.” A Georgian acquaintance told me I shouldn’t travel to Georgia until these incidents have been fully investigated - and that I definitely shouldn’t enter the country without a carbon monoxide detector. But he also said there are dangers that aren’t just invisible gas.

My question is: Is there an ongoing debate about this within Georgia, or are people making a bigger deal out of it than it really is?

Obviously neighborhoods matter too but since I don't know the best areas, I can't be more specific with my questions.

Hello guys, this topic was disturbing me for a while and if they don't take the post down I want to share it. So basically I was looking at jobs in Tbilisi online, and well as algorithm works every one of my ads, especially on Instagram were job postings. I messaged couple of them through Instagram link and then in telegram chat and even though it was posted as something else, they were offering me to deliver dr*gs (censoring just in case) and get 1000 dollars a week. Ofc I was not tempted but I found lot of jobs like this, idk what to do, reporting to police doesn't have any point because they won't find them through telegram and I don't want to get on criminals radar, its scary, but also it feels wrong to not do anything since someone who is innocent but in need of cash will definitely take the job, maybe young people. Is there something I can do?
