Recommended saw for a homeowner.

I have fairly little trees to manage, and I have some wood nearby I can cut firewood in with the approval of the owner. I won't be running the saw all day, and the trees are not the 1 meter wide bases, but more 50cm, with the odd one up to 80.

I currently have a 181 which is my father-in-laws, and I was recently gifted by friends a 182 (they did not know about the other one) I was thinking of returning it, and getting either the 261 C-M or the 400.1. But I am really unsure if the extra investment in the 400 is worth it when I have a very low number of trees I bring down every year?

YSK - Automatic repricing reduced our profit after new airbnb fees

Airbnb recently changed their price structure with fees taken from renter's being moved to the host. On the face of it it wouldn't change the total picture as prices from host to renter being increased, so I just accepted the automatic repricing.

This however is wrong as the net profit from hosting now goes down. Why? Tax. Tax here where I am is on the gross take, not on the net. This means that by increasing the price toward the renter the taxable income increased, but the net remains the same. This is a problem if you assume that the price was set correctly at the demand/supply level earlier, as we can:t increase prices to capture this increased tax burden.

I am really considering moving platform.

PPE

Inspired by the gloves thread earlier. I was wondering which PPE you guys run with. I am not doing it professinally, and although plenty of youtuibe videos say "wear your PPE" noone really says anything about what that is so far.

Now for something else that needs sharpening.

I was out trying to fell a couple of trees and I was struggling with my chainsaw not getting any traction, creating burnmarks and generally having a bad time. I have been part of this community for quite some time and it struck me that the saw liekly needs sharpening (by now you should have understood that I am pretty much a nivice when it comes to chainsaws).

I watched this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmv1JsoFZPA and it was quite informative (and I found the stihl equivalent sharpener on a chineese page so I am going to try that first). Anyone tried to free hand sharpening a chainsaw with the file?
Do you need to treat it like a knife where you use more and more grit - or is it more that you just need a edge of some sorts?
