Australian media's coverage of the situation in Azad Kashmir (15 August)

This is what happens when you don't set your narrative first and when you do, you just call others anti state, terrorists or funded by indian Raw. You don't let national media cover this. You turn a blind eye to it and ban foreign media from covering it too.

By doing all this, you lose all your credibility, and someone from an outside perspective will believe the other party. In this scenario that is the JAAC leaders. According to them, 84 people have been killed and the protests aren't over yet.

Establishment is handling this in the worst way possible. When and how do you think think this will be over?

Azad Kashmir protest enters 3rd week, People are still coming out in the Tens of Thousands. What’s the actual solution here? (23rd June footage)

What's the actual game plan here? People are coming out in the thousands like 15000+ and some sources claim certain protests even saw 60000+

There have been 500+ arrests and multiple deaths.

Even people not participating in the protests are getting affected, like running out of food, medicine, and other daily essentials. The internet is still down, and journalists and poets are getting picked up by forces. It's bad.

How and when will this end?

1020+ law enforcement officers have been killed this year, and we’re only halfway through

Can people who are well versed in our history tell me: was militancy bad in the pre 2000s, or is this sudden change since COVID much worse?? Basically, do you agree with the state minister’s statement?

What do you think we can actually do about this? I, personally thought for a second: why not spend more on our law enforcement, because they use such bad equipment? (like better protection gear) But then again, if you allocate any money for that, most of it gets lost to corruption, and even worse, those same people would beat us with that equipment only 😭

Do you have any better ideas??

Yesterday's Protest outside British Parliament about the situation in Azad Kashmir

I thought the protests were over by June 13. Can any British Pakistanis shed light on this? How many people attended, and did any of you go??

What’s happening in Azad Kashmir btw? The last I read was news of 11deaths reported by the BBC and Al Jazeera. Has that issue been resolved??

53 days since Somali pirates took 10 Pakistanis hostage. Govt now asking for more months to resolve this. $3M ransom demanded.

It's already been 53 days and the government is asking for more months to solve this. Those people are being fed rice once a day and are survivin off dirty mud water. The shipping company is not helping the hostages in any form and the pirates don't want to negotiate with our government at all.

The families of those held are still protesting for some action to be taken. The pirates are asking for 3 million dollars. Can we not give that much to save our people?? We can ask other countries to give money too since there are a few Sri Lankans and Indonesians as well. We surely have the money. If they can buy themselves 40+ million dollar private jets 🙄 they can give 3 million to save our people

Kids of those hostages are having panic attacks because of it. I can't imagine someone from my family being held in such inhumane conditions.

Do tell me if you're against giving 3 million.

Btw, aren't forces trained for such rescue operations?? Why aren't they doing anything?

Foreign Ministry confirms Ind*a is building tunnels to divert Pakistan's share of water

When I made this post a few weeks ago, people said, "Fake news, don't fall for godi media. None of this is happening" Now our OWN foreign ministry has released a statement on it. Some of u really are blind to the fact that they are working heavily on stopping our water. They are regularly doing silting to increase their water holding capacity, building hydropower plants one after another, and constructing tunnels to divert water from our share. Our ignorance towards this is only making it worse for us

And what is our foreign ministry doing, btw?? They are just realising that India is weaponizing water. They are still not sure, it only seems that way to them 😭🙏 These lot will run to their properties abroad when stuff hits the ceiling. We were supposed to stop their breath and what not??

Your thoughts on this development?

While our establishment isn't taking much action and is only now coming to the realization that India is weaponizing water🙄 I saw a great comment that said people in Islamabad are building their own small reservoirs for personal use. They can store 500000 liters per year, so that gave me some relief that at least someone is taking steps😮‍💨

4 Pakistanis burned alive by 2 other Pakistanis in Italy

Can any Pakistani living in Italy shed some light on this?? The articles I read just sum it up in a few lines like "tension between migrants over work share."

How does a work share disagreement lead to 14 different arson attacks??

Btw, by doing such crimes we are only pulling our passports down and making it hard for people who genuinely wanna have a better future there 😮‍💨

(Just saw the post about that Olympiad girl who got her visa rejected. Really sad situation. If you are reading this OP, I am sorry about what happened and wish you well for the future)

1,000+ died and 7 million were affected in the 2025 flood facilitated by our neighbour

I was reading the news and came across this recent article. The numbers are shocking, to say the least. Anyway, I have a few questions..

In 2025, we know India played a role in this flood by not sharing data and by relesing too much water at once after putting the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance, which is illegal according to the international court.

So, India still isn’t sharing the data, completely disregarding that international court. Will this mean another flood that will cause us losses in the billions and take innocent lives??

Can’t we take this proof to countries like the USA and China and ask them to pressure India into paying reparations for such inhumne actions??

It's been a week since the Quetta blast. I came across these pics of the crater and have a few questions

Look at the MASSIVE crater left behind after the blast. I read it was around 20 kg of explosives. 20 kg is not something you can easily hide. Now I have a few questions about this. I asked this before but didn't get any answers

  1. My friend from Quetta said there are regular checks before that railway crossing (no way of me knowing, only going with his word if it's wrong do correct me) so how did they miss an entire car full of explosives heading towards the train??

  2. This train has been attacked so many times twice in 2023 before Eid, November 2024, and now 2026. How are you not able to secure one train and its route, bro??😭

  3. All that property damage that happened, that building is ruined now, and so many cars as well. Who pays for that?? Will the government help these people out ???

Govt continues slashing health budgets, 81 kids dead from preventable Measles

The goverment cut the federal health budget from Rs21 billion to Rs14 billion, thats a 33% cut. Total money went from Rs54.9bn to Rs46.1bn, down Rs8.8bn.

The development budget got cut 47%, from Rs27bn to Rs14bn. That money was for hospitals, equipments, and disease control. Even Health Minister Mustafa Kamal said “No new projects have been initiated this year.”

We already spend less then 1% of GDP on public health. And now were cutting more.

The price?? 76 children dead from measles 4 month into this year. Measles a disease WE HAVE VACCINES for. When you cut federal vaccination and survailance programs, kids die.

Where are these funds going? If not to something serious like healthcare, then where?

Do correct me if some information is wrong here. I will try to correct it.

Edit: SORRY I SAID 81😭😭 I MEANT 76 DEATHS

7500-15000 Pakistani Shias deported from UAE under inhumane conditions: Detained, phones taken.

Ik, we aren't on the best terms with the UAE but is it really that bad that it justifies treating civilians in this manner: keeping them in detention centers, taking away their phones (I don't even want to imagine how they must have felt where they can't even contact anyone. Just imagining that feeling of helplessness gives me chills) Can't our government make a basic appeal to treat our people like humans and not cattle? We must have at least that much influence with the UAE.

I have a few questions about this as well:

  1. Why are we being singled out? I came across a few cases of mistreatment and detention of Indian Shias too, but not at our level. There’s no such news of mass deportation of Indian Shias.

  2. Do you yourself know anyone who went through this? Basicaly, I want to know whether this inhumane treatment is real or just media houses trying to make it sound fake mews.

  3. We used to earn a lot from remittances from the UAE. Will this affect our forex reserves now? If yes, can you give me some idea of by how much?
