Last Friday, during one of my daily check-ins in the 4K section, I noticed that Amazon’s prices were absurdly low. In just 10 minutes, I bought:

Dune and Dune: Part Two for €10 each

Inception for €10

The Matrix Quadrilogy for €16

Blazing Saddles for €20

They arrived today.

I’m still waiting for the steelbooks of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and Barry Lyndon, which I got for €15 each. Within just a few minutes, all of these titles went back to their original prices. In fact, I wasn’t able to complete the purchase of 2001: A Space Odyssey and The Shining for only €10 each.

It was absolutely one of the best hauls I’ve ever had since I started collecting.

P.S. This edition of Blazing Saddles is incredible.

I think Asian cinema has some hidden gems that go far beyond the hugely famous Parasite.

Right now I’m waiting for “The Gangster, the Cop, the Devil” and “Joint Security Area” to arrive, and for that masterpiece “Oldboy” to become available again in Italy.

In the meantime, do you have any other recommendations based on what you see here?

It's easily one of my best purchases.

The film needs no introduction, and it's absolutely stunning in 4K. I love it when they do great films justice with performances like this.

The Steelbook gives you a warm feeling just looking at it.

Mine, The Post and Soldado were picked up at a ridiculous price of €3.98 on an Eagle Pictures website. The Smashing Machine, Monkey Man and The Lord of the Rings were on sale on Amazon at €20, €11 and €17. The rest came from a video game store at around €10 each. Wonka, incredibly, was €3.99.

Le dosi sono le stesse dell’altra carbonara che ho postato, con tre tuorli a persona.

Qui, in una versione più elegante, rendo il guanciale croccante e lo uso anche come decorazione. Il gusto è comunque ben presente dato che uso il suo grasso nella crema d’uovo.

Spero possa soddisfare l’occhio dei più scettici.

It’s now been two years since I decided to move away from streaming as much as possible and gradually build my own personal video library.

The feeling is incredible—streaming has numbed us all, and now I love the fact that I can pass something tangible on to my children.

So this is my collection: it’s slowly taking shape. I always look for good deals and try not to spend randomly. I’ve picked up many of them for under €8–10 each.

Rigorosamente TRE tuorli a persona (120g di pasta a testa)

Pecorino romano, guanciale, pepe.

Si usa l’acqua di cottura per risottare la pasta e il grasso rilasciato dal guanciale per completare la crema di tuorli e pecorino.

Poi la magia avviene a fuoco spento.
