Sears' Last Gasp
I took this during the final days of our local Sears demolition.
By this point, the roof had already been torn away and most of the building was gone. Standing here at night, with wind blowing through the exposed concrete and the sky visible where the ceiling used to be, it felt like the building was caught in a state of purgatory—no longer alive, but not yet erased.
I know buildings aren't alive, but in that moment it genuinely felt like I was witnessing something taking its last breaths.
It's all gone now.
