Our family of 3 will be visiting door county for the first time next week. We will be camping, but wouldn't mind going out to eat at least one night. If you could only pick one place for dinner, with a 3 year old, and bonus gluten free, where would you go?
I want to take a thyroid supplement because I see so many people having amazing results. However, I also see things about not taking them because too much iodine and selenium can be bad, and you can't control the dose with an all in one supplement. What do we think? (Would take in addition to my prescription meds, don't worry)
Does anyone use delta 9 with hashimotos? I'm in an illegal state for Marijuana so I don't have access to the "real stuff".
Is there such thing as only taking meds and not changing diet or anything and you were able to feel great and lose weight on a regular metabolism again?
I know two weeks isnt long, but I was expecting to feel amazing and I have no difference. I am also seed oil and refined sugar free for the same amount of time. No difference. I just started my meds 9 days ago. Not much improvement. When did everyone start to notice a positive difference with meds, diet, or both? I am taking NP thyroid
Ever since I found out about my hypothyroidism on Tuesday, now all I notice is the lump feeling in my neck. I can also physically feel it with my hand. I'm freaking out, and now the internet says I should get an ultrasound. I'm really struggling with all of this and just don't know what to do. I took my first dose of synthroid today
Hi everyone, I am new to this thread. A backstory about me, I have two daughters, my secondborn I lost 7 months ago to anencephaly. I went to 42+4 when I gave birth.
Ever since then, my postpartum experience has been wonky. I definitely know grief and stress are going to be present, but I still felt like something felt off. I havent had a first period yet, and I still am lactating. I do not pump and donate, and I stopped nursing my firstborn in May of 2025.
I have been struggling with my weight. I have been so self conscious. Everyone gave me the typical, "Be gentle on yourself, you're postpartum!" But I didn't care, I just felt like there was a separate issue. I tried making lifestyle changes and ended up gaining weight. I look so puffy in my face and neck. My hair has started to snarl really badly, and I've been shedding more. My feet are constantly cold. I have been so tired, I constantly have the biggest urge to just lay down and rest or nap. I thought maybe I just wasnt getting quality sleep or that I was depressed (which I also think I am). I decided to get labs. I was just worried about costs.
I went in today and I had CBC, TSH, T4, Ferritin, and Prolactin labs done. So far CBC came back with everything, but then my TSH came back and it said value greater than 100.
I am still waiting for the others, but that is definitely a thyroid issue, correct? I know my dr will tell me, but I figured joining this subreddit wouldn't hurt anything. If I do have hypothyroidism, I would love any advice and just general info! Has anyone else had theirs over 100? Is that normal to see?
ETA: T4 came back at .36, which was lower than normal.
3 year old female. Weight is 30 pounds, height is 3 ft 1 inch. Currently not taking any medications.
Sick since Saturday, puked Saturday. Sat- mon morning was fever. Sun-wed was diarrhea. Wed was blood drawn to check labs for dehydration. She wasn't peeing much. They found out she was dehydrated and wanted to get her in for IV fluids if hydration at home didn't work that night. She peed at 430 pm, so they said no iv needed at that time. She didnt pee again until 2 pm the next day when they had to do a straight catheter because she was in so much pain and only voiding drips. They said she was hydrated enough to skip iv fluids, but they wanted a urine sample to see if she had a UTI. The catheter was very painful for her and traumatic for both of us. They got a syringe full and then she peed everywhere and emptied a full bladder. Dr said she could've had a small blockage from the sediment of crystals created due to the dehydration. They found no UTI and urine looked to be that she was more hydrated than before. They said her bladder should've pushed all the bad stuff out and she would be more comfortable. They said she was good to go home and keep pushing fluids. I was scared that she'd hold her pee after all of this, and she's doing exactly that.
We always go pee before bed. She's potty trained and sleeps through the night with no accidents. I tried to keep the routine normal and told her we needed to go potty before bed. She starts crying in fear saying she didn't want to and just wanted to go to bed. I got her to finally sit on the potty, but she wouldn't go and would just cry and grab herself. I tried treats, stickers, peri bottle with warm water, shower, water noise, deep breaths. Nothing worked, so I just gave up. She went to bed and fell asleep at 830. I am so worried she will continue to hold it and that we will have to go back in. Does anyone have ANY advice? She has been acting totally fine, happy, lethargy went away from previous day, lips are aclittle dry but mouth and eyes are nice and moist. She produced many years during catheter. I just don't want her to hold it and cause a UTI or create other problems for herself. She has been drinking fluids all day since the catheter.
