HELP - RAM+Cache crashd from nowhere

Hey,

Does anyone have any idea why AIDA64 throws an error during the Cache + RAM stress test? Is it more likely the CPU or the RAM? Because literally everything else seems completely stable 😅

I was running CO at -15 on my 2 best cores and one weaker core, and -20 on the rest of them. So far I haven't had any issues. Everything works fine, I don't really notice any performance drops, and the only BSODs I've had so far were caused by my own mistakes. No crashes at all.

The CPU itself has been tested for several dozen hours in total, both all core and each core individually.

CPU tests:

-AIDA64 CPU + FPU + Cache for 12h

-CoreCycler for around 24h

-y cruncher with various configurations for around 36h total

RAM tests:

-TM5 with the DDR5 X3D profile for 12h and Anta777 Absolut for 24h

-y cruncher for probably around 12h, give or take 2h

None of these tests showed any instability as far as I could tell. I also have no WHEA errors in Event Viewer.

I know my RAM timings are pretty tight, but so far nothing has indicated any instability, memory ECC corrections, or that the memory controller is struggling, at least as far as I can tell.

Today I wanted to run a few more tests, and that is when I got an error in the AIDA64 RAM + Cache stress test. I am wondering if the memory controller just had a bad moment with these timings, if my CO is a bit too aggressive, or if the RAM itself is unstable, or perhaps AIDA64 just randomly throws that error just because 🤷🏾‍♂️

My PC:

-R7 9800X3D

-RTX 4090

-G.Skill 32GB 6400 CL32 (M Die)

-AsRock Steel Legend b650 wifi

-Windows 11 Pro (AtlasOS)

DDR5 timings

Hey,

I think I’m done, guys. I probably won’t be able to squeeze anything more out of it, and I don’t think it would even make much sense at this point.

Temps don’t go above 45°C and actually stabilize closer to 43–43.5°C.

So far, it’s passing all the tests, at least the preliminary ones:

4h TM5 Anta Absolut

4h y-cruncher

And now I’m leaving the beast running TM5 Anta Absolut for 24h just to be relatively sure.

Wish me luck ✌️

Need dimension measurements for Fatality M25 (OG) Ultem Airflow Insert to design a 3D

Hey guys,

I lost the Ultem airflow insert for my original Fatality M25 RTA (not the Remastered one). I have access to an industrial FDM printer and want to 3D model and print a replacement out of PEEK. (Shipping the original part to my country is completely uneconomical.)

Since there are no STL files or technical drawings available online, could anyone who owns the M25 measure their insert with a digital caliper? Since the shape is irregular, I need a few specific numbers to replicate the geometry accurately:

  1. Total Length (L): The longest side of the insert.

2.Total Width (W): The width of the insert.

  1. Total Height (H): From the very bottom to the top face.

  2. Step/Lip Height: The insert has a notched/stepped design to sit in the deck. What is the height of the bottom base before it steps out?

  3. Base Dimensions: The width and length of the smaller bottom section that actually drops into the airflow slot.

  4. Honeycomb Holes: Approximate diameter of the airflow holes on top.

If you could take a few pictures of the insert next to a caliper or just drop the raw millimeters in the comments, it would be a lifesaver. Thanks in advance for helping 🤝

DDR5 Tuning/Need some advice

Hey,

I’m wondering whether it’s worth tightening the timings further instead of necessarily sticking to the formulas, especially since opinions seem to be divided online when it comes to the difference between proper and optimal memory tuning for AM5.

As we know, tRAS + tRP = tRC, but I’ve also found information suggesting that tRC can be treated more like an independent timing, where lowering it can potentially bring bigger gains than simply following the formula. For example, based on my current stable profile, I could set 48 + 36 ≠ 68 instead of the current 84. I’ve only tested tRC 68 for stability so far, though. I haven’t checked the actual performance in games or whether it has any impact on 1% lows.

I’m also wondering about the tRRDS, tRRDL and tFAW group, where 8/8/32 seems to be the standard. Going lower seems to be considered unnecessary or even incorrect in most cases (at least here on reddit).

I’m almost certain I can lower tFAW to 20 while maintaining stability.

However, I haven’t tested the whole group together, only tFAW by itself, so I’m considering testing two profiles: 6/8/24 and 4/8/20.

The question is whether that actually makes sense, or if 8/8/32 is genuinely the most optimal configuration.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this ✌️

Final Profile RAM/GPU/CPU

Hey,

This is my final CPU, GPU and RAM profile. My goal was not to chase records, but rather to achieve higher performance than stock while maintaining quiet operation and full stability in every title from raster rendering to Path Tracing, DLSS or frame generation.

Of course, if anyone has any suggestions, I’d be happy to read your thoughts, although personally I am satisfied with the results ✌️

GPU: RTX 4090 Suprim X - 1V, 2760 MHz +1500 MEM

CPU: 9800X3D CO per-core +100 MHz boost override

RAM: G.Skill 6400 MHz CL32

All results and key numbers are shown in the screenshots (HWiNFO during the R23 test). Ryzen Master was only used to display the profile, I strongly discourage using it for making any changes 🤝

P.S. If anyone has issues with polling rate on AMD CPUs, I can help sort it out. I have read a lot of comments and seen many Intel users claiming that AMD struggles with high mouse polling rates. That is nonsense and a myth, and if the issue does appear it is actually very easy to fix (im user of 8k polling rate)👌

Red/Black Theme

Hey, what do you think, does it look good and consistent?

On my OLED monitor, honestly, the deep black with the red seems to present itself really well. I also didn’t want to make the whole wall full of images, because who would even want to scroll through all that XD.

Any improvements you’d recommend?
