Ok, so there's this guy who is my classmate in uni, and it's been 2 years but we have almost never talked except maybe he asked me for a pencil once hesitantly. I'm a loner and have an intimidating presence, I think that's why I get ignored in class a lot and I sit alone (the students who want to ask something can still talk to me tho).

I have been catching this guy staring at me blankly (in class, in the auditorium, and other places I see him) and when I catch him, he continues to stare without a smile. This has been going on for at least 6 months now, when I'd catch him glancing at me but I didn't think much of it (it was only curiosity, I think), but this semester his stares have been getting long and I can't figure out what he is thinking about when he looks at me.

I feel him looking when some other classmates talk to me, and we share common acquaintances in the class too, but I think he's really intimidated or scared by me because he doesn't approach me (as a classmate or a peer even). He's just the opposite of me. He's confident, social, and has a good relationship with almost everyone in class.

Now one incident from which I started to become aware of him was when he gave a presentation along with his group mates in front of the class. When it was his turn to speak, he spoke quite confidently and looked at the students who were to his right side of vision and then when he looked to the left, our eyes met for 2-3 seconds before I saw his eyes widening slightly (it was so fast, I thought I imagined it). Almost every time we look at each other, I'm the first one to look away but that time, he looked away first (it wasn't a fast snap of his head, he slowly looked back to his right) and paused for a second or so. He was composed throughout even though he didn't look to my side after that.

In the past, other boys have stared at me too, but they were soft stares with smiles completely different from this kind of look which feels like the person staring has turned to a statue.

I'm not good at reading others, but I want to know what the blank stare means? Is it a display of dominance, attraction, curiosity, or does he find me weird in a bad/good way?

I want to talk to him, but I fear making a move and making things awkward for the rest of the semester. I’m mostly just trying to gauge if I’m being weirded out or if there’s actually something there.
