I believe there were some local sales and property tax incentives passed for this, but it appears to be a nice win for the community.

I'm still completely confused how so many vape stores can be profitable in a town of this size. I'd wager we have more vape stores than gas stations in town. Some of these stores are open 24/7 as well.

What am I missing?

The city of Lawrence just passed a 2 year moratorium on data centers within city limits. I know it's a hot topic for other communities as well.

Getting really tired of knowing there is an issue for 45+ mins before AWS gets around to confirming it. 200+ people scrambling on a call to figure out a major outage is not cheap, not easy.

Was fortunate enough to run into Mac here in Charlotte today. He looked a little surprised to be recognized, but was gracious and talked for about a minute.

All for a Football team that has a 88-210 record since 2000. This is being substantially funded with tax payer incentives (including STAR), grants, and sales tax. This is also a program that has only had 17 sellouts total in the past 26 years. Is this a good use of taxpayer funds?

My biggest takeaway, why were the owners or management of this plant not arrested as well?
