My friend is an Indian citizen who booked round-trip travel between Cairo and Tunis through MakeMyTrip. The operating carrier was Royal Jordanian.

Before travel, he obtained an official Tunisian visa authorization/entry permit. Based on the information provided to him, this permit entitled him to receive a visa on arrival in Tunisia.

At the airport, Royal Jordanian refused to allow him to travel. Airline staff stated that the visa authorization document was not valid and that he could not board the flight.

As a result, he missed his planned trip and suffered financial losses.

​

To verify whether the document was actually invalid, he later booked another ticket on Tunisair and presented the exact same visa authorization document. Tunisair reviewed the document and confirmed that it was valid for travel and that he could obtain a visa on arrival in Tunisia.

The situation became even more frustrating afterward:

​

- Royal Jordanian told him that because the ticket was issued through MakeMyTrip, he should pursue the matter with MakeMyTrip.

- MakeMyTrip told him that the airline made the boarding decision and therefore MakeMyTrip is not responsible.

- A consumer complaint has already been filed.

- MakeMyTrip's response is essentially that because the airline refused boarding, they cannot provide any remedy.

At this point, both companies appear to be directing responsibility to each other while my friend remains out of pocket.

My questions are:

1. If the visa authorization document was genuinely valid and another airline accepted it, could Royal Jordanian be liable for wrongful denied boarding?

2. Can a travel agency such as MakeMyTrip avoid responsibility entirely when a booking is made through them?

3. In a consumer court or civil claim, can both the airline and the travel agency be named as opposite parties?

4. What evidence would be most important to preserve?

5. Has anyone successfully recovered compensation in a similar case involving a visa-document dispute?

6. Would consumer court, civil court, aviation regulators, or some other forum be the most effective route?

I have copies of the booking, the visa authorization document, communications with both companies, and evidence that another airline later accepted the same document.

Any guidance from lawyers or people experienced in aviation and consumer law would be appreciated.

Is there a better but similar card like slice. What I mean is that slice basically gives one percent on everything and anything. So I want to ask if there is another card which gives more than one percent. Like kiwi, but is kiwi uncapped and does not have excluded merchant categories. If you know any information, give here, please.

Slice gives cc to those who cant get any other card at times. It is your card when you are facing rejections.

Now after getting and using it, which card do you think is the best to get.
