Dietician

Has anyone found seeing a dietician helpful?

I’ve been referred to one who specialises in MCAS which is a great start

But I’ve seen several before and never found them particularly helpful. I have a pretty good grasp of nutrition and I’ve been given plenty of dietary advice by other dietetics specialists

I don’t want to be arrogant and dismiss the idea out of hand, but I also don’t want to start something that’s not going to be very helpful

I’d love to hear about anyone’s experiences with this and how it helped / didn’t help them

Many thanks

Tryptase test

Quick question

When having Tryptase testing - my understanding is that I do one test when I’m feeling quite well, and another after I’ve had a reaction?

Did you guy purposefully eat something like knew would trigger a reaction before the test, and if so how do you do it safely so it was enough to trigger a reaction / triptase elevation, but not enough to cause a medical emergency?

Thanks!

I have mcas so my diet is already pretty restricted, but I’ve been getting more symptomatic so I decided to do AIP again because the last time I did I felt so much better.

It’s only been two days and I already have more energy and I feel better and more clear headed.

I guess this means that some of my “safe” food really weren’t that safe after all? But I feel like I’m in danger of being able to eat less and less different foods

Has anyone else found AIP helpful and were you able to reintroduce foods after?
