I know it seems obvious, but I have confusion around the word “antisemitism”. I always assumed it was dislike for Jewish people. However, once I started learning Hebrew I learned there were other semitic languages. With that new knowledge, is “anti-semitism” more broad than the jewish community or how did it become synonymous with the jewish people?
This may be long but I will try to be as succinct as possible. When I lay on my back or sit on a soft surface like my sofa, I have pressure that builds starting in my diaphragm. I get nauseous and the pressure builds into my chest but mostly my back between my shoulder blades. It hurts to breathe deep. My shoulders start hurting and my hands start tingling. I will soon feel like I’m going to pass out. I never have. Once I stand up, it subsides fairly quickly. However, it is now starting to happen while I am standing. My neurologist says its not IIH. My neurosurgeon did imaging on my cervical fusion and its all in order. So, what do I do? I have a myelogram and a nerve conduction test in the past 30 days and its all fine. Side effects of Diamox? Could it be a PE? Some days I’m great and can work all day like nothing is wrong, and the next it hits me without warning out of nowhere. Any insight?
I quit my job in October of 2025 because my symptoms had got to a point I couldn’t reliably work everyday. I got COBRA for $700 a month because switching to my husband’s plans would have required switching doctors and I was in the middle of getting scheduled for a myelogram and nerve conduction test. Now that the tests are complete, I’m thinking of dropping the COBRA cause the $700 a month is drowning us and moving to my husband’s insurance as soon as it opens. so, 6 months I will be uninsured. I’ve only had two ER visits and they were for bloodpatch after LPs. I’ll just tell neuro, no can do until November though I don’t forsee needing one. My flares are all in my back, shoulder and neck. I get nauseated and feel like I’m gonna pass out. I never have though. I pay out of pocket for Diamox because its cheaper than running through insurance. Am I stupid?
