I have always been a bit hesitant to make a post like this… is there something you learnt or a product you know from your upbringing and culture that works for you and most people won’t know about?
I definitely have one and more people need to know about it!!
Surprisingly, it’s a soap, but it’s only made out of two ingredients.
Aleppo soap is made from just two active ingredients—olive oil and laurel berry oil—and the percentage refers to the amount of laurel oil in the bar.
It’s actually amazing for dry skin, flaky skin, eczema and psoriasis or any related skin problems! Not just on your face but on your body, hair and scalp!!
It’s like one of those secret home remedies!!
Let me know if any of you have heard of it.
It is not irritating or drying at all. It’s actually very soothing and fixes a lot of skin issues 😍
If you have a cultural product to share, let us know 🤩🤩🤩
From the Internet:
Aleppo soap is a traditional, plant-based bar made from just two primary ingredients: olive oil and bay laurel oil. Because it is free from artificial fragrances, harsh chemicals, and synthetic detergents, it is an ideal, all-in-one product for cleansing the face, body, and hair.

Core Skin Benefits
Soothes Inflammatory Conditions: Bay laurel oil is naturally antiseptic and antibacterial. It helps calm redness, making it an excellent natural aid for conditions like eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis.
Deeply Moisturizing: Olive oil helps nourish and hydrate the skin, protecting its natural barrier without stripping away essential oils.
Acne-Fighting: The natural fatty acids in the oil help control excess sebum, unclog pores, and limit imperfections like pimples and blackheads.
Versatile Uses
Gentle Shaving: When lathered well, the rich and creamy foam acts as a natural, soothing shaving cream that protects against razor burn.
Hair & Scalp Care: It works as a solid shampoo, helping to hydrate the scalp, control flaking, and minimize dandruff.
Face Mask: You can apply the lather to your face and let it dry to use as a purifying mask to rejuvenate the skin.
How to Choose
The concentration of bay laurel oil dictates how the soap behaves. You can select the right Aleppo Soap Concentration based on your skin type:

5% - 15% Laurel: Best for daily use on dry or highly sensitive skin.
20% - 30% Laurel: Perfect for balancing combination skin.
30% - 40%+ Laurel: Ideal for oily, acne-prone, or problem skin requiring deeper purification.

Just one quick question… Is a barrier serum important in your routine with Tret and also continuously? And if so, which one?
Anyone use the brand Obagi?
It’s very pricey and cream based.
Would like to hear from people using this brand and their take on it.
The most highly rated SPFs - if you had to choose one out of these… which one?
Barrier serum recommendations - Barrier protection
I feel a barrier serum is quite important 15 minutes after putting on your Tret and then moisturiser. Also just as daily use to always keep your barrier intact. It definitely helps with, purging, dry skin and flaking. I even use it in the mornings.
I currently use PURITO Centella Unscented Serum.
Would love to know other recommendations and what you use and find very helpful.
Let’s talk Retinoids! Do you use one and if so which one and why?
As seen on the picture there are different strengths.
Would love to hear from other people who use a retinoid and their experience with it.
Let’s learn from each-other.
Any recommendations on MINERAL SPF?
Whenever I type mineral sunscreen loads of different options come up but most of them aren’t mineral lol.
Does anyone use a really good one? They can recommend? Don’t mind if it’s tinted too.
Thanks 🤩

If this is your skin type, you need to read this!
This is not just acne this is closed comedones!
This usually targets the younger generation and my best advice is to use Adapalene! *I am not a doctor, but I have been through it and came out using this one product! Adapalene (Differin gel).
Start very slowly like two times a week, if you want mix it with your moisturiser as well and then get used to the flow.
Adapalene (commonly known as Differin) and Tretinoin (Retin-A) are both potent topical retinoids derived from Vitamin A, but they differ significantly in strength, stability, and primary uses. Tretinoin is generally stronger and better for anti-aging, while Adapalene is gentler, more stable, and ideal for acne.
Adapalene is a third-generation topical retinoid primarily used as a first-line treatment for acne vulgaris. It works by increasing skin cell turnover and regulating the growth of follicular epithelial cells, which helps keep pores from clogging and prevents the formation of microcomedones (the precursors to pimples).
Its primary benefits include:
Acne Treatment and Prevention
Unclogs Pores: Effectively clears existing blackheads and whiteheads by exfoliating the skin at a cellular level.
Reduces Inflammation: Contains anti-inflammatory properties that help decrease the redness, swelling, and soreness associated with active acne.
Long-term Maintenance: It is often recommended by dermatologists for ongoing use to prevent future breakouts.
Reduces Scarring Risk: By treating acne effectively at the source, it lowers the likelihood of developing permanent scars and dark marks.

Let’s learn from each other!
Sometimes we add too much magical lotions and potions and it feels so good and soft when we wakeup BUT then there are other times we just know we went too far and got carried away and our skin is in overload.
So many new and exciting products out there all the time!
When do you know your skin just needs to breathe 🌱
YOUR FIRST STEP WHEN USING TRET!
As you can see on the picture some advise to add a moisturiser first and some say straight onto dry skin.
What do you think is the best way for the first step in a Tret routine and why?
Discussion time!
What’s a good barrier serum? Not a toner or an essence but an actual serum.
Name one you like and the benefits it’s has on your skin and mention your skin type!
Key Functions of a Barrier Serum:
Restore the Barrier: They use ingredients like ceramides to reinforce the skin's natural lipid barrier and combat dryness.
Reduce Irritation: Many contain calming ingredients such as Centella asiatica and bisabolol to reduce redness and inflammation.
Deep Hydration: These serums often provide instant, deep hydration to fix a compromised, flaky, or tight barrier.
Environmental Protection: They help shield skin from damage caused by pollution and air
Hi!
I know they say it’s not good to use tretinoin around your eyes which I don’t do but does anyone use anything else around their eyes? Like a weaker retinoid cream or does tret reach the eye area anyway when doing its thing.
What recommendations do you have for directly under eyes?
This is specifically for small fine lines and wrinkles right under your eyes.
EDIT: please be specific with your answers! Don’t just name the brand you use.
State where and when you use it and also while your Tret is on or not. Before/after and so on.
