Being referred, really upset

I have always been someone with no energy but just put up with it. Well a month ago something changed and I crashed HARD. Since then I’m mostly stuck in bed. My life right now is wake up, work (either from bed or struggle through office days to the point I feel so unwell I might collapse), make an easy dinner as can’t stand up for long, lie back in bed. I don’t need sleep I just need to not move.

The GP suspected it could be CFS but wanted to rule out other stuff first. I was really hoping something would come up but the blood tests are back and there is nothing wrong with me so I’m going to be referred to the local ME/CFS service.

I was really holding out hope for a quick and easy fix and from what I have read CFS has no cure. This can’t be my new normal. My life has shrunk. I have barely left the house in the last month, haven’t seen my friends, gained weight because i can’t exercise and my house is a mess because I don’t have the energy to deep clean. I am also worried about work, I have already had to take a few days off sick and my ability to do a good job has plummeted. I cannot afford to cut my hours.

I just don’t know what to do. I don’t want this diagnosis. And I feel I have no support because one of my parents doesn’t believe ME/CFS exists and thinks it’s just something made up to put a label on crazy people. So I can’t even tell them. I feel so alone

GP appointment this afternoon and worried I will be dismissed again

I have been dealing with something for over 10 years now. Tried getting help and just repeatedly dismissed. Few times I managed to get as far as being given a blood test but when that was normal I was just told I was anxious, or there was nothing wrong with me. Every time I use up so much energy fighting I then just give up. Haven’t spoke to anyone about my physical health issues for a couple years and I’m now at a new surgery. I’m now three weeks into an awful flare up and have an appointment this afternoon to speak to a GP. I’m just so worried they will listen to me offload about how much I’m struggling and once again I will be dismissed. And I know I’m not good at standing up for myself and I have no energy right now so I know if they don’t seem to want to help me I can’t fight. I just NEED help. I can’t keep living like this. Even if what’s wrong with me has no cure I can cope with that I just need to know something is wrong and for someone to care

What happens in a phone call with a mental health practitioner

I’m at a new surgery and I did an appointment request today to say I’m struggling and I been booked in tomorrow for a call with a mental health practitioner. What will happen???? It hasn’t got a call time and I have never seen a mental health practitioner before so I don’t really know what they will say or ask which is causing anxiety
