Advice on biracial issues

Hi! I have a biracial child of whom I absolutely adore. I love being a mom. I love my partner. I am not a person of color myself. I feel that I have a huge gap between the struggles my child may face or partner vs myself. And I want to educate myself on these issues so that I can better support and teach my child to love themselves for who they are ALWAYS. Also to support my child and partner. It means a lot that I am a healthy support.

I want to know resources to help educate me on struggles of parenting biracial kids in a mixed home, books on racism and struggles people face and things I can do as a parent for my child and also their friends and peers. (Also I want to support anyone else in this ugly fight).

Any books, any websites, any comments and things that could be helpful. Please let me know.

Thank you

Does anyone have recommendations on psychology based parenting books or websites?

I would like to be current on the healthiest guidelines and recommendations for parenting.

Ones that address:
Common behavior issues and how to handle them
Healthy parenting styles
Supporting your child to be a healthy adult
Raising a biracial child in a healthy way
Socializing
Milestones
Ages 0-18

I’m aware that biracial children can face unique challenges. I just have kids and want to stay current and do my best. Any recommendations I would be totally interested in!

(I came here because I wanted to find books or websites or publications that are current and not outdated and science backed).

Thanks

AIO I’m in blue, am I being a bad partner/reasonable?

I think I’m losing my mind. I have a history of CPTSD, severe abuse including but not limited to sex.

I feel it’s all happening again and I’m spiraling. Im not crazy, this is really bad right?

Hello all- I made a post earlier on a new guy I got from the petstore and how he was sick immediately after.

He has a corneal ulcer and ECE. They are doing bloodwork and that will wait for a callback. He had mites and parasites.

So- I think we can doll him up. We are waiting to make sure his bloodwork’s are good though like adrenal function, liver etc before we make a final decision.

Thinks are looking good though

We just bought a ferret and we adore him.

We bought him from a petstore it’s been less than a week. Since we got him he has had one eye that gunks.he is 9 weeks old supposedly had all shots (sold from petstore) and checked for FHV. He drinks, has loads of energy, eats well. Comes out to play four times a day in half hour 45 min intervals.

When we got him he was kept with a cedar hide. He no longer has that- only has fleece bedding and hammock and ferret safe toys.

I have a video of his eye and I’ll try to get a photo as well.

I keep trying to research about his eye and it said the eye can be very serious sign of illness. It also says it can be pink eye.

Is this a return the ferret scenario I still have 25 days to return. I don’t want to take on a pet that’s already critically ill at 9 weeks old when I purchased him I was told he was in good health.
