Speed Painted a Couple of Speedy Shooty Boys this Week!

I really obsess over details, particularly with death guard. I set myself a challenge to finish these two in a week. Very happy to say that I managed it. Normally I am potentially the world's slowest painter 😂 C & C greatly appreciated.

How to Achieve Classic Vostroyan Tank Scheme from a Brown Base?

Really looking for some help here, I don't want to ruin my precious Rogal Dorn.

I was thinking sponging/drybrushing on Karak Stone, then perhaps a lighter dusting of wraithbone, then potentially a pin wash with Agrax or Serpahim Sepia?

I dont own an airbrush, which rules those techniques out!

Any help is appreciated.

Warhammer 40k Gaming (South, Marion Area)

Hi all,

I'm pretty new to the gaming aspect of warhammer 40k. Are there any gaming groups down this way that are beginner friendly? I have all the rules/codexes etc, just need some game time :)

Infantry battle-line composition

G'day all,

Through a series of poor financial decisions, I have bought a bunch of MTO Vostroyans + some through FB marketplace. Having not actually played the TT game for about 10 years, was looking for some guidance based on force composition for my core infantry line.

What I will have once orders arrive:

1x 4 man command squad
40x standard lasgunners
4x Plasma Gunners
3x Flamers
1x Grenade Launcher
5x Sergeants
3x Mortar HWT
4x Lascannon HWT
1x Heavy Bolter HWT

Based on my understanding, the most competitive composition of the above, while using as many models as I can, is as follows:

Infantry Squad 1, 2, 3 and 4

  • 1 Sergeant
  • 1 Plasma Gunner
  • 6 Lasgunners
  • 1 Lascannon Heavy Weapons Team

65 pts each

Infantry Squad 5 (20-man)

  • 2 Sergeants
  • 1 Heavy Bolter Heavy Weapons Team
  • 1 Flamer
  • 1 Grenade Launcher
  • 14 Lasgunners

120 pts

Command Squad

  • Company Commander
  • Veteran with Regimental Standard
  • Veteran Vox Operator
  • Veteran with Medi-pack
  • Veteran Guardsman (flamer)

75 pts

Heavy Weapons Squad

  • 3 Mortar Heavy Weapons Teams

60 pts

I beleive this leaves 1 flamer spare. But I would need to buy 1 more sergeant (or convert , to make up the required numbers.

I understand that i could attach the command squad to the 20 man blob, which seems competitive.

Is the above accurate? I do not have the codex yet, nor do I know the rules that well, so i relied heavily on AI to generate this.

Pallid Hand Bloat Drone fresh from the Garden

Pretty happy with it despite it taking hours! Death Guard really do suck your time.

Do we think its missing anything? One of the tricks with DG im particular is knowing when to stop 😂
