Yea... Save your money. Do Not buy these. Worst figures I've bought in years.

I was actually thinking about taking some poses, but nah. These are terrible. The overall sculpt is nice and the head sculpt are VERY nice, but terrible everywhere else. The joints are gummy or loose or molded incorrectly.

Luan Snow: Sculpt is nice, actually very nice, but that's the end of the story. The biceps are gummy as heck. The hand pegs are molded incorrectly and loose which will break (not if, but when). The torso even with two separate piece has ZERO articulation. The hip can't raise up even to 90 degrees and at an awkward angle. Oh yea, and the two left feet (this is with me already returning the set that came with two of the same head) and you can't see the feet without opening it.

Spiderman: badly molded knee joints on both leg which there are actually plays in a insert molded joint? wtf to that. The head looks up and down nice, but has zero side to side. butterfly joint is the traditional swivel, but has almost no range and the feet is set at an awkward angle when you rotate it like most female feet. Sculpt is nice though.

but yea, DO NOT gawd damn buy this 2pack. Even at the $40 Target in-store price, this is not worth it.

Mattel MOTU Chronicles movie He-Man. Finally found one in the wild. Future of affordable DC figures could be bright if they play their cards right.

aesthetics: Overall for a live action figure it looks kind of cartoonish, but proportion is still very heroic. The face sculpt is good. The digital print looks pretty good. The armor bits are great even. It's only the musculature looks very cartoony. The biggest surprise is that the edge finishing on the parts all look very smooth without any excess flashing and fit and finish/gap tolerance is consistent through out the figure. I also want to emphasize how Mattel did the shoulder hinge I think looks better than even some of the import figures.

articulation: If we are solely talking about the range of motion; it is fairly mid and you don't get much out of the torso or the butterfly joint. The hip without a real thigh rotation doesn't get a lot of range either. I would definitely sacrifice some chest sculpt for better range in the shoulder, so he could dual hand the sword. However this is very enjoyable to pose for a very good reason and that reason is the joint fluidity. The main thing about using import-style joint is about the smoothness when you are moving the joints. The friction has to be just right for it to not be too tight or too loose and I think Mattel did a excellent job here. The joints feel buttery smooth and consistent unlike Jada's first attempt on Invincible where it feels notchy. I think for people that owns these figures can attest to that. The last figure I got that was this smooth was the Storm Arena Baki.

outlook and concerns: I think the outlook is bright with Mattel with the DC line if they can keep the joint consistency like this guy. They just need to sculpt a good looking figure and improve the articulation range (namely the torso, butterfly, and hip). Personally I don't think their kids line proportion looks good. The other concern is scaling; This figure is 6.75" so it is 1:10 scale if we're considering the actor is only 6ft tall. He looks massive next to 1:12 scale, but looks perfect next to my only other 1:10 figure InArt Arkham Origins Batman. So, are we going to get the DC figure in 1:10 scale or 1:12 scale?

Also, this would make a great Arnold Conan if I can find a custom head that match his skin tone and accessories.

Some fun with the new Jump Pack Captain and the corrected version of the BA Intercessor.

Threw some quick weathering on the gold bits and the shield. Painted both eyes.

Pose comparison between SHF Gamerverse Wolverine & ML Gamerverse Wolverine. It isn't just about ab crunch.

After messing around with the SHF for more than a week. IMO the SHF Gameverse Wolverine is the best tiger stripe Wolverine you can get right now at this scale. It is just so much more fluid to pose and more natural looking when you get it into a pose. Marvel Legend Gamerverse was a great figure and it is still the best Wolverine Hasbro has done, but it simply doesn't compare how it feels in hand when you are actually posing the figure. You can have both doing the same pose, but only one will look good from all angle and looks more natural. ML having the deeper ab crunch doesn't really mean much because the knee just doesn't look good when bent as well as not having a good butterfly joint and ankle swivel.

Marvel Legends Rivals Punisher. Not sure why I picked this guy up except he looks like he can out punch Hulk.

aesthetics: Got to give props where props is due. I must say that the sculpting details does not feel like a ML at all. The face is printed very well. The details are actually great and whatever paint app there is are mostly done very well on the front. The back side is a black void though. The paint on the rifle thing is ok, but the plastic is ridiculously soft. Overall he looks great and does not look like the typical cheap looking ML.

articulation: Lower half of the body is pretty good. There's drop down joint to allow the leg to go up decently for a bulky design. The knee looks alright because there's a knee pad. The inclusion of the boot swivel was also a surprise. The upper half is pretty mid. You barely get 90 degree out of the elbow and there is no butterfly joint. For a character that has the artwork on the box that has him holding the rifle with two hands, this guy can barely do it and the only reason he could do it is because how cheap and bendy the rifle is. A good butterfly joint could've made this guy much better. The diaphragm doesn't get a lot of range with the vest in the way. The waist is also just a swivel where they could've just done a ball peg. The neck has decent range with the double ball peg.

I think It is a decent figure if you like the Rivals game. If you are not a fan of the game, just wait for a sale. If you do want to get it, I'd do recommend trimming the neck so that the ball peg has more movement as well as just trim the side of the chest, so he can actually tuck in his arm.

Ghost getting some upgrades.

Painted the beanie black. Bought a 3D printed Noveske N4 (searched high and low couldn't find the ACR with the right look and this is closest to a custom M4) and a thigh holster set for around $15 each. I already strap on one of the holster in the first photo. The holster kit came with quite a bit for the money and highly detailed. The Valaverse figure is slightly larger than true 1/12, so finger doesn't really go into the pistol trigger slot. I also took Black Beard's hood and bought the grey vest that I feel like matches better.

The question is; keep the stock belt on or off? The pistol kind of shows why a ball hinged wrist is better than peg with hinge and how these could really use the modern shoulder update.

Jada SDCC Exclusive Invincible. It's good, perhaps great! But QC is mediocre. Jada fans might want to turn away.

TLDR: great figure, QC suck ass!

My buddy was lucky enough to attend SDCC, so I asked him to help me secure a copy of this guy because I think the all bloody look is something unique and interesting before the pre-order for the standard Mark arrives. I was excited to open this guy up and it is good and frustrating at the same time because the QC of the joints as well as some of the finishes are horrendous and also the things that certain glazing reviewer doesn't tell you.

aesthetics: I haven't watched the show at all, so based on reference images I think he looks pretty good and accurate to the show although the blue seems a little off. Other than that the body is really nothing spectacular, it's just a thin tall lean guy in a suit that's pretty plain looking. One of the things I don't like about the overall aesthetics is the hip seems protruding out where there's a bulge in the transition of the silhouette. Another would be the gap when he leans forward and back. I know people probably don't care about the box, but the card stock for the box feels really cheap as well as the clear tray inside. The printing is nice though.

articulations: He moves pretty much how you would expect him to move from a Jada product. Nothing's really new except the implementation of import style joints which works great, but this is also where it feels cheap because they also kept some of the old designs. Although the joints work, it just doesn't feel as smooth. It feels like as if you are pushing an object that hasn't been moved for a while which require you to put a little bit more force on it and then once it gets moving all the sudden it skips a couple steps and stops past where you want it to be. It almost feels ratcheted even though it is smooth. It makes fine tuning poses frustrating. The diaphragm and waist are on one of those "shaped" ball pegs that has notches which is also annoying. The foot is also on ratchet rather than the smooth joints. The diaphragm goes one notch pretty much in all the direction and if you want anything in between, you are basically forcing the joint to stay in place and wear out which eventually creates play in between the notch. The hip joint is also the older ball peg style with those dots on them. The butterfly joint is pretty scratchy.

Quality Control: Now here's the fun part and the reality of this figure. Right out of the box, the left arm came off when I picked him up. There's almost zero tension between the peg and the socket for the peg to stay in place. The arm comes off as soon as you rotate it back and forth without any effort. The right arm stays in better, but has a very noticeable play up and down. The left fist peg is bent right out of the box which causes the fist to sit in an off-set that looks funny. (note to Jada, just use ball peg hinge!) The left foot for some reason has only 3 notches position where the right foot moves more freely. I don't think I need to explain how this cause issues as we have all seen McFarlane. The interchangeable hair is a great idea, but all the hair are fairly loose pretty much like the complaint people has with the SHF Wolverine. The hair comes off too easy when moving his head around. Now, all these I can look past as this is the first figure Jada is releasing with this new setup. There is one thing that literally pisses me off; whoever was painting the matte finish left the waist in a forward crunch and basically left the section that was covered shiny and a clear paint line. And lastly the left elbow is shiny plastic and right elbow is matte finish.

Overall: This is a very good figure, but I doubt I'd put him in my top ten of this year because of the QC issue. Also based on experience, the tolerances for the arm that comes off are very likely affects the whole batch. At the end of the day, instead of watching some glazer reviewer that gets their hands on stuff early, you really need to experience this figure or any figures you are interested in yourself. Don't just follow into the hype. In my opinion, if you can get this closer to the $40+ tax retail, get it. This is not worth the aftermarket asking. I still did pre-order the regular version and Conquest. hope the QC issue on this is fixed on the regular.

SHF Gamerverse Wolverine.

This IMO is the best Wolverine even with the flaw of the loose claw and yes, I also own MAFEX and ML Gamerverse. Is it the best by a wide margin, no. Mine has the loose claw on the left fist. The silhouette of this figure when posed is the closest as if there’s a human skeleton underneath very much like how shinkocchou seihou kamen rider are made. Yes, there are a lot of cuts, but it creates the best silhouette without gaps and looks natural. This is also the easiest to pose and balance between Mafex, ML, and it.

Aesthetics: I think it looks great except I do agree with many that the arm hair could be better. Other than that I think it looks great. There will always be arguments for the cuts in the articulation and if it was necessary. I will say for what SHF wants to create, absolutely. I don’t have my Mafex and ML on hand, but I included couple photos of comparison when I got the ML. You can see the SHF doesn’t have that gap at the crotch and can point the toes in the proper position with much better looking knees.

Articulations: I think it is import to note that besides the obvious ones, this also has ball hinged glove forearms and boot swivel on top of the ankle swivel.

Accessories: sucks. Plain and simple. It should’ve come with slash effects and just have glued claws with additional fists. AND where’s my calm face?

I came across this video today that I find the best at explaining my shared view point that I think it is worth a watch if you can sit through 1hr video.

Arkham Knight from UPF by LPZZ.

LPZZ just keep putting out amazing figures one after the next.

aesthetics: You would think that this thing doesn't articulate that well because it hid the articulation so well. photos don't do justice to how beautifully this is done.

articulations: It is just 10 out of 10. I have nothing bad about it to say about this figure. Even the straps that some reviewers said are loose on the thigh wasn't an issue for me.

accessories: 9 out of 10. all the interchangeable parts for Red Hood fits perfectly. I do feel like we should've gotten the other Red Hood chest plate as well as the sword & dagger that AY includes.

This is definitely worth the pick up.

Bought Rice, saw a Bird, and watched some Magic.

Had to do some modifications to the torso and back of the knee, but I don’t hate it. Head sculpt is surprisingly decent. Might grab Bird and Magic too.

52toys SF6 RYU. Don't sleep on it.

review for whoever wants to read.

aesthetics: 52toys did a pretty amazing job capturing the likeness of Ryu from sf6. The hobo look is not my favorite, but doesn't take away from how good this actually looks in hand. Yes, the torso is shiny for whatever reason. I top coated only the torso after posing it for photos (see last photo). This is true 1/12 scale, but the head is on the small side even comparing against in game artwork. The head sculpt in person is better than their promo image imo.

articulation: This is very much on par with Storm Arena. The shoulders on a long ball peg going into the torso with a cap for the butterfly. It allows very natural shoulder movement when you punch forward where the shoulder raises up, not much range going backwards though. Better looking elbows and knees than Jada and Storm Arena. Also, probably because the dude is topless, the mule kick from this guy looks the best out of the three. Most of the joints are smooth. The only issue that's not really an issue is that the thigh has a slight play in the most neutral pose, but once you rotate it it is fine.

accessories: got to give 52toys a lot of credit here. way better accessories than either jada or SA.

verdict: thanks to Jada, we now have Storm Arena and 52toys making these at a lower price point in a scale that most of us collects. I would highly recommend this guy, not just SF fans. Now please go make a SF5 Ryu!!

Secret Level Titus color variant/correction

From a previous discussion someone let me know there's a color variation of Titus with newer productions. Finally got one and compared.

The left is the original release from the first batch with a lighter hue. The right is the new one that actually matches Metaurus and other blade guards. The gold on the original batch was also more orange.

It looks like the first batch they painted the blue based on the CE 4.0. It's also interesting that they bother to change up the box art and made the image more saturated while other infos are all the same. same product item number.

Mess Toys Lethal Neighbour (yes, that is how they spelled it on the box) review.

Aesthetics: 10/10. This thing looks incredible in hand. The spider is actually sculpted and not just painted on. The paint is 9/10, it's not the cleanest in couple area, but overall it is very nice. Mine does have a scratch on the right chest which is unfortunate. The white is pearlescent and I actually love the dark purple hue rather than Venom being all black. They're also going for the glossy/gooey look which is kind of cool, but has a draw back. Feet are very tiny for the size of the figure. All the heads are sculpted and painted incredibly well. The Eddie Brock faces are digitally printed as well. This guy stands at about 7 inches tall, so you can fit him into multiple lines if you want.

Articulation: 9.5/10. This is basically full on modern Amazing Yamaguchi articulation that some third party companies are going with (Sexyice also uses this setup). All the joints are nice and smooth except the regular feet are somewhat loose at the swivel and why is the feet with the toes larger than the one without? It makes standing him in some poses pain in the butt.

Quality & Material: 8.5/10. Beside the standard feet are loose at the swivel, the molding technic isn't the cleanest. You can see some spots of area that are suppose to be smooth to have rough texture. The edges of some parts could be cleaned up better as well, but for the money spent this figure is done quite well.

Accessories & Value: 10/10. 4 sets of hands, 2 sets of feet, 4 heads, bunch of tendril, and a stand and all for $43 just can't be beat.

My 2nd Valaverse figure arrived. Vane

So quality wise, same as the Blackbeard I reviewed previously. The Zach McGowan head sculpt is captured nicely. The articulation is better on the Vane than Blackbeard, you get better forward tilt of the foot and able to aim down the sight better with Vane. Aesthetically there are still sculpting decisions that I dislike in general with domestic figures though. The main thing is the way the chest and shoulder looks, the chest is too narrow and the shoulder is very low which IMO, pretty ugly. The second is when you use the boot cut you get shelves on either side of the sculpt. Would've been much cleaner if the swivel was hidden in the ankle. The good thing is the gears cover up most of the flaws on the chest. I understand that it was done for the butterfly joint, but it is still ugly. I also notice the elbow is a different shade of green than the arm and it is very obvious. Overall though, I'd probably recommend Blackbeard over this guy because the overall accessories and size.

side note: I now know why the gun holsters on Blackbeard are the way they are because all the different holsters shares the same style clip where you can interchange between all the gears. props to Bobby for designing it this way.
