So I had no plans to buy this, but a friend bought a couple and asked if I want one and just give him what he paid. I been messing around with it this afternoon and have a few things to share.

The quality and feel for the figure is superb; the paint, the sculpt, the details, are absolutely some of the best I've seen in this scale. I especially love the metal pin on the shoulder pad where you can take them off and plug it into his back when you put the guard thing on. That's attention to detail you don't see now a days from name brands.

The accessories are great with the baseball & football death-match theme. All the accessories are sharp and detailed. The only gripe is the peg for the football bomb doesn't really stay in the hand very well.

The articulation is top notch, but at the same time familiar because it is based off the modern Amazing Yamaguchi setup. However all the joints they made it feel more sturdier than AY. It's fresh on my mind because I had just actually opened the Ninja Gaiden 2 Hayabusa I bought from a year ago. This is the puzzling part because I've seen some people praise the f out of this guy, but still hates AY which this is essentially AY if this guy was made by Kaiyodo.

The gripes: Not sure if this was the case with the red/black Smashers, but this guy's wrist peg is extremely tight from rotation, so it is a hassle to get the wrist rotate the way I want. I literally had to take off the hands to rotate the pegs. The good part is they gave you extra pegs. And the peg for the football/bomb being loose.

Finally took some time to modify the arm where previously said I wasn’t able to do it. Some before and after for the arm; not as much range, but oh well.

I don’t get the hate. I just don’t. This is all three without rotating the hip to get more angles. Yes, you'll get more out of Baki by rotating the hip and thigh (edit: and use tuck the soft parts). Yes, MAFEX with the new soft diaper will get better range. However the combined range isn't bad at all and can do all his poses.

Picked up some acrylic brush markers to paint the Heavy Intercessors because I noticed how the helmet wasn’t painted like the other SM2 or SL guys. And then realized all the 3.0 and even the BA Captains and Apothecary aren’t painted as well. Test painted on the Posca. Leads me to the question if how they’re painted on some of them are just Joytoy being cheap OR do they follow how minitures are painted by GW.

Wasn’t really sure how I’d like the head gear before, but much cooler looking in person. I do feel like the joints on these are somewhat inconsistent; hip joints especially loose. Originally ordered 1 2 3, but the package was lost. Got a refund and 2 & 3 was out of stock. End up with 156 I still dig it. Really wanted 3 for the axe though.

No metal right arms because the bicep joint size are vastly different. Did swap over the left forearm without any issue.

option 1: Use the new heavy as the base. Turning this into a BA Techmarine will be easier since almost no painting is needed I'll probably just go silver around the pauldrons and move the techmarine crest over to it. The downside is the chest would be interesting. The wing on the chest is easily removable, but will leave two screw holes and two square peg hole which the techmarine chest device thing won't cover or I could cut out the skull in the middle and just lay the device over it. The power pack also doesn't sit right

option 2: use the MK6 as base. The upside is the power pack sits better and I should be able to integrate the techmarine chest piece easier. The down side is it'll look less close to the original.

anyway, this will be a project to tackle between free time and handling my almost 10 months old.
