Teeth placement while playing?

This might be an odd one, but: I had a dentists visit and we were talking about the viola etc. and she asked, if I have my teeth closed together when playing or if there is space between them (since apparently the teeth should be touching only while eating and not otherwise) - I realized I never actively thought about it while playing, but I believe I have them closed.

So, what is your situation? Are they apart or touching; and if they are apart - do you close them when doing shifts down and helping yourself with the chin a bit?

Disclaimer: I had some bad jaw clenching habits when playing from childhood that I’m working on, so the result isn’t completely natural to me 😅

Brahms Sonatas - manuscript

Dear clarinetists, does anyone maybe have access to the manuscript of the 1st Brahms sonata? I know it is in the library in NY, but I sadly do not have the means to somehow get to it as a student from a smaller country from the other side of the world - I would still nonetheless love to see it, to get a better feel of the music. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Capy

Ok, I never knew if I should post this, but two years ago when visiting a zoo in Taipei, I somehow caught this - a monkey (part of a group of like four of them) slapped/touched a capybara in their mixed enclosure, and then the capy of course ran away a bit and the monkeys chased after it. I felt violateeeed seeing this, but here ya go

Brahms manuscripts

Does anyone maybe know how to find Brahms’ manuscripts (preferably online)?

When performing pieces I always love to check the source, but I am a bit confused about Brahms sonatas (specifically the op. 120, no. 1 - either the clarinet or viola edition would work), and it’s my first solo Brahms. Could anyone maybe help?

Bach: Suite 5 for auditions - to scordatura or to not ?

Ok, dear violists, when filming auditions videos or at an audition - do you play the 5th suite in the scordatura or in the normal tuning?

Example: I have to film a movement of Bach (and would love to do the 5th) for an orchestra audition video with a few other pieces without cuts in between. What would you do? Is the tuning in between too messy? 👀

Bed bugs while traveling?!

Guys, I am staying at an airbnb (have already slept one night and still have two to go) and found this - just this one. Is it what I fear, a bedbug?
I am driving to another place with a colleague after:

  1. Do I have to tell the car-owner who is driving me?
  2. Do I have to tell the owner of the second place where I’ll stay?? (Probably yes, but 🙃)
