Imposter syndrome (incoming undergrad student)

Hi everyone,

I will be attending UCL from this September, which is so exciting and I am super grateful! However, part of me can't help but already begin to feel like I will not measure up to the expectations of the institution. Since I got two unconditional offers, my family and friends tell me that I will be fine and that I am deserving of this. However, I can't help and feel somewhat anxious that I will simply not be good enough.

Has anyone experienced this and could ease my mind on the situation?

Thank you :)

When do we get our timetable/books to read during summer?

Hi everyone,

I am an incoming student at the SSEES Department, and I was wondering when we will receive our schedules/timetables, as well as books to read prior to the beginning of the academic year.

Thank you for your help :)

USC or UCL (University College London)

Hi everyone,

I am so torn between these two acceptances.

I was accepted to USC and also got into UCL, a university in London. The cost comes out the same for both colleges.

I always wanted to go to California and study there, and I was so happy to get in. In three years, I could get a bachelors and master's degrees, which is really great. However, it is so far away from my home and I am very attached to my family.

On the other hand, UCL is currently ranked as the 9th best university in the world. I merely applied because I did a semester in London and love the city so much, and after getting rejected from UCLA and Berkeley. But I would have never thought that I could actually get in. On the other hand, I would have to start over with my studies, as you can't transfer to their school. The Bachelor's is three years, not four.

Could anyone offer me some insight/ what you would do?

Thank you :)

War Studies and History at KCL or History, Politics and Economics at UCL?

Hi everyone,

I am an international student who is torn between these two choices. I know that UCL has more prestige and could be better in the sense that I am aiming for law school in the U.S. after my B.A. and then have a career in IR or politics.

Nonetheless, I heard that War Studies at KCL is super prestigious, and I would love to have some input from others.

Thank you :)

Hi everyone,

I was recently admitted as a transfer and I am looking at studios/ 1bd apartments off campus. I came across Solis at Isla Vista, and was wondering if anyone ever stayed there and could share some thoughts.

Thank you! :)
