Germany, this time you are on our side right? RIGHT??

I mean glad Germany still has motivated men to join but... Hopefully they know what they doing this time.

Whole article:

"The Bundeswehr hit its 2026 personnel target with volunteers, reaching about 186,700 soldiers on 31 July, its highest level in 13 years.

The application data is the sharper signal. July brought roughly 47,300 applications, 26 percent above the same month in 2025, while headcount grew by about 3,700 year on year. The defence ministry names the new Wehrdienstgesetz as the driver: since January every 18-year-old German citizen has been written to and asked whether they will serve at least six months. Around 378,000 letters had gone out by the end of July, with roughly 96 percent of men and about 4 percent of women responding. Some 12,100 people currently serve under the new short-service model.

For anyone hiring in Germany, this is a new competitor for the same 18 to 25 cohort that Ausbildung programmes, trade employers and graduate schemes are already fighting over in a market short of skilled workers. The Bundeswehr is targeting 260,000 active personnel plus 200,000 reservists by the mid-2030s, roughly 73,000 more active soldiers than it has today, drawn from a shrinking pool. Reported by Tagesschau, citing the Federal Ministry of Defence.

If the voluntary route falls short of that figure, the law provides for a compulsory duty. Anyone modelling German headcount into the 2030s has reason to watch the monthly application numbers."

Ex-Colonized countries have to stop blaming colonization for their failure to develop their country.

Everytime I saw people in ex-colonized countries being salty against the West for "stealing" their chance of developing their countries, I just cringe.

Yes, I am not saying that colonization had no effects, it certainly setback the development of the colonized countries to a few decades back.

But to solely blame everything on it? I think that would be more of an excuse of their own shortcomings on their self-development. The big arguments I would use is to take examples of ex-colonized countries that are now considered as successful or "developed".

As a primary example we have Singapore, it was a backward town in the time of its independence but now is considered to be the richest country in Asia per Capita. They were a British colony and stayed poor after their independence but they managed under strong leadership to become rich on their own.

Sure Singapore is a small country so might be an bad example? How about South Korea then? They were completely colonized by Japan and was also poorer than North Korea during their independence but look at it now? Considered as a developed country.

How about China? Yes it never were fully developed but it was still at one point poorer than African countries. Now it became the second biggest economy of the world.

What I am saying is that the people overusing the victim card of being colonized centuries back put them in a mentality that is not beneficial for the development of their own country. So instead of looking for ways to develop their countries they try to escape it and immigrate.

It's also a leadership issue, yes some democratically elected leaders were disposed by the West, the West isn't innocent. But you can't tell me that goes for every single ex-colonized countries.

Being colonized is not an excuse to being entitled for your own country's development. Many other countries managed to develop themselves with a worse starting point. It is all about the national and leadership mindset. The national drive that those people should focus on instead.

Blaming the West is the easy way out and weak mindset. Because you think you aren't entitled to put efforts in your own development because that isn't your fault, your responsibilities but that of the West.

I am writing an Otome Isekai, what tropes you wish there was more or to avoid?

Hello fellow OI enjoyers!

I am well into the planning phase of my OI "My Dear The Villainess". And before finishing the main plotlines I wish to get some inspirations about what tropes you'd love to see more of and what tropes genuinely piss you off.

I started this project cause I was pissed off by some tropes so yeah that's why I am writing ahah.

I love reading interesting tropes so really feel free to state as many as possible.

My OI will be quite special as it will have a male MC. So a transmigrated man into a fantasy Otome. And as you'd have guessed the original villainess would be the main focus.

don't hesitate to ask for more details if needed ahah

Hello! Need some tips for a map I made for my Fantasy Novel!

I'd like some insights, suggestions and tips about the shape of the continents presented.

Please do ignore the items that are already there (mountains etc...) they're only placeholders. Though if you also have some tips for that, they are ofc welcomed as well.

The app I used is Nortantis, the time I spent on that map is around like 4 hours or so?

I wish I could have done the central continent better, I feel like there's something that is amiss or weird. I like the forms of the 3 teeths but maybe they look too similar? I dunno.

Any opinions are welcomed, feel free to ask about the lore too if you want

Need help to choose Cover for my Otome Isekai Novel

[DISCLAIMER, those are AI generated IMAGES]

Hello, I'd like to get your opinions on which cover is the best for my otome isekai novel!

------------

Synopsis of "My Dear, The Villainess":

"The body wasn't his to begin with.

It used to answer to the name Nelon. Now it was his, how did that happen? He couldn't say, he just woke in a noble attire, his head aching as fragments of another man's memories were forced into his own. And he found himself standing in the heart of a ball. Not just any ball: the highest society of the Kingdom had gathered for one purpose tonight; the social debut of the future White Duchess, Rosaline de Napherien.

The name sounded hauntingly familiar.

He knew it. God help him, he knew it from the novel his older sister had been obsessed with back home. the one she'd never stopped talking about. And Rosaline? Rosaline was the Villainess of that book. His sister's favorite character, the woman whose schemes and horrific beauty he had absorbed against his will. Who would imagine that he'd one day breathe the same air as her?

Now she was real. And she was the only thing in this entire world he knew anything about.

So the only question he had as she turns, as her gaze settles on a face that isn't his: Is she the one he can cling to while he learns to survive this world?"

-----------

Thank you for your timeee! As you can see, this is a quite unique otome isekai where the main character is the Male Lead ahah! As a man who enjoys reading otome isekai, I thought this would be an interesting idea to write.

Hopefully this work becomes sucessful so I can actually spend money for a good cover lol. But yeah don't hesitate to ask any questions about the covers, the novel itself etc.... Would love to have your insight.

D Ahname vo de 10-Millione-Initiative hätt d Iwanderig us Drittstaate no erhöht

Was ich verdammt nonig chan verstah, Wieso hend d Lüüt nüt us em Brexit glehrt?

Wüssed ihr no, was eis vo de Hauptargument für de Brexit gsi isch? Weniger Iwanderig! Und was isch denn nach em Brexit passiert? D Iwanderig us de EU isch zrugg gange, aber d Iwanderig us Drittstaate isch gstige.

https://preview.redd.it/r99p8uzsyv7h1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=06b60d8505b67f7c2ade291e4a0799bcb604f885

Wenn nöd us de EU, denn halt us em Rest vo de Welt

Meint öpper würkli, mer chönd euses Gsundheitswese schnäll eifach mit Schwiizer Arbeitschräft ersetze? Statt weniger Iwanderig hetted mir denn eifach meh und meh Iwanderig us Länder, wo d Integration no schwieriger isch als bi EU Iwanderer.
