need a little ( a lot ) of help on sleep training. ive been reading posts in the sub and online, but it is just so hard. right now my 10m old is doing 3/3/3 sometimes only two naps during the day. then bedtime around 7:30 pm and we usually wake up around 5-6am. is this too long of sleep at night?
she will sleep in her crib for the first two hours of the night then wake up and will not go back to sleep in her crib. her crib is in our room so we dont have to go far when she wakes. we both work and have to get up early so dad usually will give up and take her to the couch in the living room and sleep with her there. this has been our routine for the last couple months.
she has never successfully put herself to sleep on her own that i can think of. when she was first born, we had to do a combination of rocking, bouncing, humming, singing, and patting to put her to sleep. shes gotten better but still needs to be held to go to sleep. i hate having her cry to sleep but thats starting to feel like the only option. she hates waking up by herself. i want her to be able to wake up and put herself back to sleep without crying but it feels impossible
i will get up and comfort her then lay her back down and put my hand on her belly so she knows im there, and she will start screaming again.
we love holding her and cuddling her while she sleeps, but me and dad miss sleeping with each other too.
i know we need to start sleep training asap and need advice on starting and what to do when all she wants is us, i just hate hearing her cry but i know its her only way of communicating.
currently home with my 10m old after getting my wisdom teeth out.. i am miserable. i dont feel the best and i know she can tell because all she wants to do is cling to me. i took the day off to rest but her babysitter thought that meant she got the day off too so i am home with a screaming baby. i know she's just expressing herself and her teeth are coming in too so she doesnt feel great, but i feel like i am about to lose it. i haven't had time to pump, im exclusively pumping, or eat or take my medicine. im doing everything to take care of her but im not able to take care of me. at least i know this is just a short chapter and will be over soon
just a rant any uplifting support or experiences would be nice to hear 🥲
