Free car & motorcycle show + downtown party in Beaverton, Sunday Sept. 13

I'm one of the organizers of Traffic Jam on Broadway, a new community event happening Sunday, September 13th from 10am–2pm on SW Broadway St. in Beaverton.

We started this a couple years ago as a small customer appreciation car show at Fresh Start Detail, but this year several neighboring businesses and the Beaverton Downtown Association got involved, so we're opening it up to everyone.

The event is free to attend and will include:

-An invitational car and motorcycle show

-Food and drink booths from local favorites:
• Teriyakimoto
• Bluto's
• Fly Chai
• Lionheart Coffee Co.

 -Beer Garden featuring Binary Brewing

-Free raffles for our ceramic coating services

-Giveaways for the kiddos

📍 12130 SW Broadway St., Beaverton
🗓 Sunday, Sept. 13, 10am–2pm
🌦 Rain or shine

We're hoping to make this a fun downtown Beaverton gathering for car people, families, and anyone who wants to wander around, grab something to eat or drink, and check out some interesting vehicles.

Flyer has the rest of the details. I hope to see some of you there!

(We also have a few spots left for more show-cars, send me a msg or email info@freshstartdetail.com if you're interested)

New Mexican Food Truck on Broadway

We’re excited to welcome “Taqueria Lindo San Miguel” to old town Beaverton right across from the new Modera apartments, on Fresh Start Detail’s lot.

This is actually the same physical truck that was here prior, it’s just been sold to another member within their family and redesigned with an infusion of money and fresh ideas.

I had a chicken/green-chile tamale and it was awesome! It’s not on the menu yet so you may have to ask about it.

Paint splatter from the Hwy 217 spill: some practical advice

I don’t know who caused the spill and I’m not here to speculate about responsibility. I’m posting because I’ve already seen a couple vehicles with paint splatter from it, and this is the kind of thing people can accidentally make worse by scrubbing or using the wrong solvent.

A few tips:

- Don’t scrub it dry.

- Don’t use abrasive pads or magic erasers on paint.

- Be careful with strong solvents, especially around plastic trim, rubber, and textured wheel-well pieces.

- The sooner it’s dealt with, the easier it usually is to remove.

- If it’s only a few specks, it may be DIY-manageable.

- If it’s heavy, get advice before going after it.

I own Fresh Start Detail in old town Beaverton, and we’ve removed this kind of contamination professionally.

I’m happy to look at affected cars and give honest advice.

If it’s simple enough to DIY, I can do a test spot to show you how to do it yourself safely. If it’s more serious, I can quote professional removal.

You’re welcome to stop by Mon-Fri, 8am-3pm, no appointment needed for this.
