How would a medieval society that is in a half a year long winter and where the summers reach highs of 60 F (15.5C)? how would the royals feast? Could spices be imported? does the elevation affect food production?

I am attempting to create a discord server to help me, and my friends write our first stories.

No cursing, nsfw, or trolling is allowed, due to kids being on the server talking with use to. some of the writers are still in school.
