Honestly, I’m getting pretty tired of seeing AI-generated flyers everywhere.

I’m an illustrator and visual artist, and I actually make flyers by hand, from the concept and composition to the final artwork. There’s something really satisfying about creating a visual that feels connected to the event, the music, and the people behind it.

Not trying to start an “AI bad, artists good” argument, but I’m genuinely curious: do you guys still care about who makes the artwork for a party or event? Or has the visual just become another disposable part of the promotion?

How important do you think artwork is to the identity of a club night or a record?

I’ve been making illustrations for underground events in Brazil for a few years, as well as artwork for bands and music releases. My work tends to be more character-driven, weird and playful, which sometimes feels a bit different from the more minimal, abstract or design-focused aesthetics you often see in underground club music.

Personally, I love when the artwork feels like an extension of the music rather than just something to package it.

I know diggers love it when the track is fucking great and the artwork is just a photo of the vinyl, and honestly, I love that aesthetic too.

But do you guys think artwork like mine can fit into the underground without losing that “cool” factor? Or maybe fuck being “cool” altogether? Sometimes I feel like chasing that aesthetic can actually limit what the artwork can be

Do you think this kind of artwork fits the underground scene? I also do flyers and album covers

Events I’ve created artwork for: https://cartoonzitos.app/work?cat=events

I’ve been making illustrations for events in Brazil for a few years, but I feel like the underground scene often leans towards more minimal or abstract identities.

I always like adding a bit of humor and personality to my work, but sometimes I get the feeling that promoters are looking for something more “cool” than fun.

Do you guys think there’s a place for this kind of style in the underground scene?
