If the Berlin Wall was constructed on 9 November 1989 (the day it actually fell in real life), then in this timeline, the wall would've fallen on 6 February 2018

People who make it their personality to hate a random meme

Case in point: r/67HATE

To me, people who overreact to a mildly cringey meme are more cringey than people who say the meme itself

Like for example I find the 6-7 meme kinda cringey but I swear to fucking god I've seen some people act like it's the plague. "Oh my god the future generation is doomed they say 6-7!!!" bro shut up it's literally just a number and kids having harmless fun

People using TikToks as "evidence" during arguments on Reddit (and other platforms too)

I swear to god this pisses me off so much. I've seen people on Reddit link like two tiktoks about smth and think that that's indisputable evidence for their claim.

If you wanna support your argument with evidences, please, PLEASE use better sources than TikTok.

Some arguments for early 2020s:

  • The economy was still recovering from the post-COVID inflation
  • It was before Trump got elected (Nov 2024) or entered office (Jan 2025)
  • AI images were still bad enough to be easily recognizable
  • The high prevalence of AI-generated videos that increased in 2025 hasn't happened yet
  • Forced age verification systems from various countries (which is a significant part of the mid 2020s internet in my opinion) have not started being enforced since 2025.

Some arguments for mid 2020s:

  • early-mid 2024 was after October 7th attacks
  • The pandemic, a huge characteristic of the early 2020s, was long gone
  • Although Trump hasn't been elected yet, there was still a general conservative shift that started around mid 2022 and early-mid 2024 was in the middle of this
  • Remote work mostly died off by around 2023, so this was mostly post remote work

Like I swear to god I see people saying something like "anyone born after 2000 is a baby" while being born in like 1998. Like, brother you're not that much older than them. I know that this is mostly a reddit thing and doesn't really happen IRL but it is still kinda annoying
