PG after MBBS from India

Hi, I'm a final year medical student from India considering moving abroad after my MBBS from India.

I find myself in a pickle to choose between the US and Germany.

As far as I understand, the US system is very competitive and even after all the work put in it's a probability that I might or might not get in (given that connections and preference to their own has risen and also the visa issues). Germany, I know and understand that the language is not easy and it will take effort as well almost like trying to read all my clinical subjects in a whole new language.

I did father a vague idea of what the process looks on the surface for Germany but I'd like more insights from people who have gone through this and could help a fellow aspirant.

Is it worth all the hustle?

The pay is decent enough is what I've heard. What's your take on this?

How long does it actually take to actually start residency or practice?

If I start languages now( final year) and obtain certifications over the next 3 years, would that be a practical plan?

The thing is, I am not able to get things straight in my mind while this confusion eats me up. I want to have a goal at least now so I don't feel all lost.

All help is appreciated!

Thanks in advance!!!!!

Suggest please

Hey guys, so I'm in my third year. University exams in a month and I'll be in final year. My initial plan was to be done before the end of 3rd profs but yeah here I am. Do you think I should take 6 months and dedicate to step 1 (managing classes tho for attendance) or just push everything for during internship. My head's almost bursting with the current visa situation too. Do I go for it, or do I not. This dilemma ughh. So help me figure this out.

Traffic police

On the roads of tirupati, there are countless numbers of reckless drivers, under-age kids driving around but no, sir's have to stop people minding their own business. I own a 2 wheeler and live like 5 mins away from dmart and was stopped on the way. Past me there were wobbly drivers, a kid, and speeding vehicles. The same speeding ones that turn immediately or stop mid way noticing ahead that they're being stopped.

At this point it just feels like it depends on your luck, no matter how well you drive, you follow rules or carry necessary documents.

Missing my angel

I was walking my dog in the morning. There's a playschool nearby and I saw a granny leaving her grandkid there. She so lovingly pinned a handkerchief and set his hair and kissed his forehead. And it just sent me back to when I was a kid. My granny would dress me up in the cutest frocks with the amazing flare and two tiny bunnies on my head and i absolutely looked like a doll. She would drop me off and stay right outside under a badam tree so she could take me back if I cried (even when my parents told her it's okay if I cry, I'll learn). Made my favorite food always. If she was visiting, I knew I'd have a feast of sweets.

Growing up, I don't think I appreciated what I had enough. Two years ago, she passed away. She didn't want to be bed ridden, and God said 'okay'. I was visiting her at our hometown after NEET, and I got my result exactly the day before. I told her I'd be a doctor now. I'll never forget the look of pride on her face. My birthday was in a week. I told her I'll go home now, I'll come back later. She asked me to stay one more day and that she'd give me a gift I'd never forget.

The next day, early in the morning she told me she was feeling uneasy. I was the only one in the room with her that moment, went to the other side to fetch a cloth to wipe her so she freshens up. The next thing I see she's leaning/falling to one side and I held her, calling her, calling everybody else. But I knew, she was gone. Everybody tried everything but, yeah.

**A gift I'll never forget indeed.**

Maybe she asked me to stay one more day for this? To be by her side. To have one day to do things for her that she did for me all the time? Maybe.

I'm only grateful I had her as my grandmother.

I know it is a long post. But why I got reminded of her is, on my birthday this year. My relatives barely remembered. Not that it bothered me or something. The first wish after my parents was always her, she never forgot, not once!! And then I got a call from my fav cousin, he wished me and said, grandma always reminded us to wish you on your birthday.

That was it.

Everything I was holding against her for dying right there in my arms. I couldn't.

I miss her so much and I know she's looking down and still showering all she has.

I miss you 💗
