Are lithium‑fed MPD thrusters the most promising near-term option for interplanetary travel?

It seems NASA is going all in on development of magnetoplasmadynamic thrusters since they really want the high efficiency of NEP with as high a thrust it can manage with that setup. So MPD seems the best option given those prerequisites. This honestly looks really promising, and makes me wonder if this will be the way we’ll be doing most interplanetary travel until we get fusion and/or beam propulsion going.

Was the 1268 siege of Antioch more destructive and bloodier than the siege of Jerusalem?

The fall of Jerusalem during the first Crusade is always depicted as an absolute blood bath in sources and that led me to believe it was an unusually cruel and violent event for its time. But after reading about the siege of Antioch by the Mamluks, it seems that siege was far worse, with a higher death toll and mass enslavement and the city never really recovered from it. This might be subjective but does the 1268 siege deserve better recognition or rather infamy than Jerusalem?

You guys are alright.

My US team got justifiably ran over by the freight train called karma thanks to the orange pedo. (Big surprise). So I hope you guys go all the way because I’ve had a lot of fun watching your squad and fans compared to other teams. Especially fans in the UK despite the time zones being straight fucked for you. Feel free to downvote if this comes across as shameless karma boosting. I’m a brave man I can take it.

Decent possibility he was a Canadian Paratrooper - and could narrow him down.

Just thought I’d throw this out there as a possibly intriguing line of thought.

A lot of little things point to him being Canadian and I find myself leaning somewhat in that direction. The FBI had some difficulty investigating suspects in Canada due to the obvious jurisdictional issues which would go some way to explaining why he was never pinned down. I also believe he was more likely a WWII paratrooper rather than special forces or a guy with zero jumping experience. Assuming these two things are true (big if I know) this would narrow down to the number of Canadian paratroopers in WWII.

A cursory search says there were approximately 2000 paratroopers across two battalions in the Canadian army. Not a small list, but if that number is accurate, it’s certainly workable for any sleuths out there with too much time on their hands.

How would a Lunar base work without gateway?

With gateway cancelled, I am not seeing how month(s) long stays on the lunar surface will be possible considering Orion only has 21 days of ECLSS. Orion can support 6 months of life support as long as it’s docked, but with gateway scrapped that is no longer in the picture. What in the world is the intention for the two astronauts that will be remaining aboard Orion??

So my understanding is the current strat for the Soviets is build civs hard as late as 1938 or longer since they go to war late. But considering how OP their economic focuses are, and the factory count requirements for them, wouldn’t it make sense to build mils since they’re cheaper than civs so you can hit the factory count requirements as quickly as possible? The Soviet focuses also provide a fair number of free civs anyhow. I was also able to field a 6 million man army for Barb too since I had so much equipment.
