i fw with his music a lot (mainly his old stuff pre full pop era) i j feel like hes lowk hiding behind a "mysterious" persona when his real personality seems much more encapsulating, sometimes his real self shines thru a clip or wtvr n it leaves me wondering how much more id fw him if getting cringed out by the facade of "mystery" didnt constantly get in the way
tbf ik the mystery thing is like a trend rn n been a trend for a min but genuinely some ppl dont seem to try hard to get there while w others it seems too artificial n manufactured, nate sib dont gotta try to be mysterious j be urself gng the music is more valuable than the mystery cool points

my thoughts as a working producer/engineer who cant stomach normie shit: yes i think its a decent first song to tease the album and get the conversation going, but i wouldnt say its my fav work of his cuz i personally wouldve wished the lyrics had a clearer identity in general
the song is experimental from head to toe (which i thought was extremely fun to go thru), engineering, mix, even comping the vocals was sorta nonorthodox (as a engineer). only thing i couldnt vibe with really was the ending toggling glitch (minute ms dup ending), seemed like a cheapout to me but thats my own preference and it may very well have a seamless intro into the next track
the new look: i think its time, and comparing both looks is absolute nuance, let the man represent himself the way he wants cuz thats not for us to dictate imo
mv: honestly liked his older vibes more but its a good time to see what he winds up doing w a bigger budget and a team under him. lowk fw the dark aesthetic but thats my opinion ik lots of ppl got into hollis for the angel etherial heavenly aura, but ig angels fall so let him adopt a "fallen angel" era geez
now dont quote me on ts im no psych but i think the split here is lowk a bit generational, or could be an expectations typa thing. cuz wdym ppl had their opinions set in stone p much before the song even dropped (some)
artists cycle thru eras, some of yall seem to forget the music is an extension of the artist. wtvr hes gone thru in his tour made a mark and were seeing the evo of that. its not burger music, its hollis repping himself like an artist does.
ps. trauma era was fckn fire but its not over, plenty of eras to go thru
super obscure n prod is p fun thought yall would fw ts
im not in germany so i couldnt go and hes pretty small so i dont know if this would land but did anyone hit up that show? it was in berlin on june 21
