The Colors Looked So Different Online 😭

The Colors Looked So Different Online 😭

So I’ve been going back and forth between Mauve Pink and Peche for a while now and couldn’t decide which one I liked more. Unfortunately, my nearest store is 3.5 hours away and I just couldn’t make that trip. They were on sale, so I bought both with the plan to return whichever one I liked least, but now I kind of dislike both for different reasons lol.

First, Mauve Pink is not pink at all to me…it’s purple. The stock images made it look more like a true mauve/dusty pink, and I genuinely went back to check because I thought I ordered the wrong color. I don’t hate it, and maybe if it had a gold knob I’d like it more, but I just don’t think I really like it.

Now Peche, I’ve been obsessed with peachy pink for the last two years, so when I found this color I wanted it so bad. But it’s kind of the same thing where the color is slightly off. Even the picture above doesn’t really show it, but the darker orange color is a lot more orange than it looks. In the pictures it looks just slightly darker than the middle color, but in person I’d consider it more of a coral while the lighter color is a very soft baby peach pink.

I ultimately decided to return Peche because I have a gas stove and all of my light-colored pots get flame marks. They don’t really come off even with cleaning, so I knew it would drive me crazy if that happened to this pot.
But now I’m wondering if I should return the Mauve Pink too and just wait until a color comes out that I actually like. If there were a glossy black or if Ganache came back, I would trade it in for either of those in a heartbeat. But as of right now, I don’t think there’s really a color I love.

What happens if you still have a class open at the end of your term?

Hey guys, my term ends July 1, and I still have one class open. I've been working on Statistics all month, and I should be ready to take the OA by the end of this week.

Before I started the class, I told my mentor I might need an extension, and she was understanding. I emailed her at the end of last week to officially request one and let her know I plan to finish by the end of this week, but I haven't heard back yet.

I don't usually need to contact my mentor, but when I do, it can take a while to get a response. In the past, I've ended up contacting support just to get things moving.

How do extensions work? Does it need to be approved before my term ends, or is requesting it enough? Should I contact support tomorrow, or just wait? I'm not sure what happens if you still have a class open when your term ends.

Need help finding my style as a plus size girl in my 20s

Hi guys!

I’m looking for some store/style recommendations because I’m really trying to figure out my personal style and I have no idea where to start.

I’ve been plus size basically my entire life, and I recently found out I have lipedema, so there are some areas of my body that I’m just not super comfortable showing yet. The biggest one is my arms. I genuinely haven't worn a short sleeve shirt without a jacket or sweater over it since 5th grade (not even exaggerating).

I feel like when you grow up plus size, it’s really hard to figure out your style because there’s just not as many options, and a lot of what is available feels like it’s either office wear or “soccer mom” style. Obviously nothing wrong with that if that’s your thing, but it’s just not me. There are a lot more cute plus size pieces now, but a lot of the trendy stuff I see is also not something I personally feel comfortable wearing (mini skirts, mini dresses, anything showing my arms, etc.), so I end up back in oversized sweaters and clothes that don’t really make me feel like myself.

I’m in my early 20s and I want to dress like I’m in my early 20s! I know there’s a middle ground between crop tops/string tanks and a giant baggy sweater, but I feel like I have no idea how to find it. I feel like I have a nice shape and I’d love to actually learn how to dress in a way that shows that, while still feeling comfortable. I think wearing oversized clothes all the time just makes me feel more self conscious because I feel like I’m hiding.

I am working on being more comfortable with my body though! I’ve made progress (I actually went to the lake and swam in a bathing suit this year, which was a huge step for me). But for now, does anyone have ideas for summer outfits that cover the upper arm/elbow area without making me feel like I’m going to melt or adding a bunch of extra bulk?

I’d also love store recommendations! I shop at Torrid a lot because they’ve had some really cute stuff, but other than that I feel kind of stuck. I used to shop at Aerie a lot too but not as much anymore.

Also if you have any plus size fashion influencers you love, please send them my way! I feel like I’m still trying to figure out my style and could use all the inspiration ❤️

Need opinions on this quilt block before I commit!

Hi guys, I wanted some opinions on this quilt I’m making for my mom. It’s very colorful, and there’s not really a huge theme to the color palette. I’m basically just trying to make it as colorful as possible for my mom, who LOVES color and flowers.

I’m thinking of switching out the dark green block. When I ordered the green fabric, I thought it was a blue/teal. It’s definitely a blue-green, but it’s more green than I wanted. I decided to use it anyway to avoid having to keep buying more fabric (unfortunately there are no fabric stores near me, so I’m stuck ordering online and crossing my fingers lol).

My sashing is going to be this green floral print fabric to help tie everything together, but I’m worried this green block looks a little off with the sashing. I’d love to avoid making another block, so if you think it works, let me know.

My mom’s top three favorite colors are teal, pink, and purple, so I really wanted to include a teal and pink block. I also wanted the teal to add a darker value since a lot of my blocks are pretty light.

Do you think the green block works with the rest of the quilt and the sashing, or should I redo the block with a blue/teal background?

Anyone Have Experience with Tattoo Removal Locally?

Hi guys! I was wondering if we have any good tattoo removal places in Kitsap.

I have a few small fine line tattoos and one slightly bigger piece with some color that I'd like removed. When researching, I mostly see places recommended in Seattle, Bellevue, and even Vancouver. I'm not opposed to traveling since I'd want my appointments spaced out by at least a few months, but I'm still wondering if we have any good options over here.

When I search locally, all I can really find are med spas that offer all kinds of laser treatments, so I'm not sure how effective they'd be at tattoo removal specifically.

Any recommendations or personal experiences would be appreciated!

Thought this was going to be a table runner… now I need quilt layout help lol

Hi guys! About a month ago I posted that I was making a table runner using my siblings’ and my birth flowers as a Mother’s Day gift, but now that I’ve finished the blocks I feel like they’re too pretty to just be a table runner 😂. These are the first quilt blocks I’ve ever made and I’m honestly so proud of them, especially since I only started sewing in February!

Now I really want to turn them into a quilt, but I’m having trouble figuring out a layout that would highlight the six flower blocks without making everything feel too busy. The flower patterns are from Burlap Blossom Patterns on Etsy and she has some other blocks like butterflies and bees I could add, but I still want the flowers to be the main focus. I also really want to use the fabric from the second photo somewhere in the quilt.

I don’t want it to be massive, maybe just a bit bigger than a throw size, but I’d love any suggestions for layouts or patterns I should follow. Thank you!
