Which London rail project do you think will actually be built next; Bakerloo extension, Crossrail 2 or DLR to Thamesmead?

I’ve been looking into the current status of three of London’s biggest proposed rail projects: the Bakerloo line extension, Crossrail 2 and the DLR extension to Thamesmead.
I ended up making a video comparing how far each one has progressed, what’s holding them back and which one currently seems most likely to move forward.
I’m curious what people here think though: if London could prioritise just one, which would you choose and why?

Why Thamesmead Has No Rail Link: The 60-Year Planning History Leading to the Current DLR Extension Proposals

Hi everyone.
With TfL progressing the Transport & Works Act Order application for the proposed £1.62bn cross-river DLR extension, I wanted to deep-dive into the archives to look at how this area became so isolated in the first place.

Thamesmead was masterplanned for major rail links nearly 60 years ago. I have put together a short documentary tracking the initial planning flaws, the reality of the gap to Abbey Wood's Elizabeth Line, and the history of the earlier cancelled extension attempts that left the area stranded for decades.

I wanted to focus strictly on the infrastructure and planning archive rather than just making a standard travel vlog. Would love to get the sub's thoughts on the video, and how viable you think the proposed 2033 opening timeline is given TfL's broader funding challenges.

2 hours wait for the SL2 at Pier Road……is this just London buses now?? 😭💔

Waited nearly 2 hours for the SL2 at Pier Road recently.
I know delays happen, but that level of gap felt hard to justify for a fairly frequent service.
Is this just typical London bus reliability, or was this an outlier?
Curious what others think.

TfL proposing changes around Meridian Water: thoughts?

TfL is consulting on some possible bus changes around Meridian Water.

As proposed, the 341 could be cut back to Northumberland Park, the 192 may no longer run to Tottenham Hale, and routes like the 444, 476, and W8 could be rerouted or extended through the new development instead.

It seems aimed at reshaping links around the growing Meridian Water area, but it would also mean some people losing direct routes they currently rely on.

Nothing is confirmed yet. Just proposals at this stage.

Would this improve connectivity for the new development, or just make existing journeys worse?

I timed the new SL11 Superloop (North Greenwich to Abbey Wood). Here is the data on why it's struggling.

Hey everyone,

I tracked a full journey on the SL11 from North Greenwich to Abbey Wood to see if the "Express" tag holds up against the gridlock.

The Reality Check:

SL11 Bus: 44 minutes (wrecked by Charlton roadworks).

Train Alternative (Jubilee + Liz Line): 30 minutes.

The Infrastructure: No USB chargers on the upper deck, and zero countdown boards at stops like Lintonmead Primary School.

You save 55p on the bus, but you lose 14 minutes. Is your time worth less than £2.40 an hour?

I filmed the full route and mapped the exact timestamps here:

Are the Charlton roadworks completely killing this route for anyone else?

TfL temporary timetable changes on routes 145, 155, 185 etc. Are they here to stay?

TfL has introduced temporary/revised timetables on routes 145, 155, 219, 264, 270, 280, 185, 195 and 493.

TfL says the changes are due to current traffic conditions and roadworks affecting parts of the network, with some of the changes officially described as temporary.

I am curious what people think. Do you expect frequencies to return to previous levels once the disruption clears, or do you think some of these reductions could end up becoming long-term?

London bus frequencies seem to have been gradually reduced on a number of routes over the last few years, so I can understand why some passengers are sceptical whenever “temporary” timetable changes are announced.

Quick heads-up.

TfL buses will be running a Sunday timetable across the network.
• Most routes = normal Sunday service.
• Routes with no Sunday service won't run.
• Expect lower frequencies in general.

As always, check TfL if you're after specific workings.
