Military Victory Since TOT, Didn't Seem Fun.
I've only played three games to completion since TOT was released. Two of which were economic victories, which was pretty easy to understand. The other night I went for a military victory, my favorite, and I guess I'm not understanding the win conditions.
I was at war with the two other leaders on my continent, Catherine and Himiko, since antiquity so come modern I decided I would just completely eliminate them. Which I did. I chose to raze their cities/towns two at time, to not go over my settlement limit. But, this got me no where.
Amina was close to a science victory at 91/100 points. So I just started buying and mass producing settlers and took up as much of the continent as I could and won. I felt like I earned the victory from completely eliminating two leaders, but winning just from setting up a bunch of useless towns felt cheesy.
I guess I could have kept the settlements I was conquering and won that way, but it doesn't make since to go over my settlement limit, and tank my happiness, when this strategy worked the same.
Is there a better way of getting a military victory? Or am I just not understanding the changes since TOT?
