Eugene Onegin

After 40+ years of attending operas, I finally saw this "Live from the Met" in a local theatre May 2. Very long.... and the action is very predictable. No amazing music from Tchaikovsky in it. I would never go to see it again.

Can anyone tell me 1. if they really like it and 2. why?

I am looking at two flights between Calgary and Quebec City. The departing flight has two rows of extra comfort seats, the returning flight has 4 or 5 rows. Can I assume that the first flight is one of the reconfigured ones with the experimental no-room seating at the back --- or could that be the one with the addition extra comfort seats? In both cases, they are just identified as Boeing 737 Max 8.

I would just like to confirm a couple of things.....

  1. I cannot buy a one way fare on this train. Given the cost (and the distance to the station), I would like to take the bus to Malbaie and then the train back to Quebec City.

  2. The station at Montmorency Falls has a steep stairway down to it. I read 400 steps. So on the return, this means climbing 400 steps (says a person on a wait list for a hip replacement. Actually both ways are difficult.)

  3. Is the best scenery before Baie St Paul? Assuming I can do that return trip (may depend on the answer to Question 2) -I see that the train stops at the Germain hotel. Is it far from there to artsy area of town?

Thanks/merci beaucoup.
